Baby Products Reviews of Kushies Flushable Biodegradable Diaper Liners, 100 SheetsCustomer Review: Just okay Summary: 2 Stars
I decided to give Kushies a try after I ran out of Biosoft liners, and while they're slightly better at preventing runny/pasty stool from wicking to the diaper, they're rough, they tear easily (out of a 100 sheets, I had to throw away about 20 due to tearing during diaper changing) and they don't provide as much coverage as Biosoft liners. Loose stool pours over to the sides b/c the liners are too skinny. Other people have said that you can reuse these liners 1-2 more times, but I have found that not to be true. They completely fall apart if run through the wash.
I think I'll just stick to Biosoft and double up on days I can expect my son to have runny stool (i.e. he has a cold or is trying a new food). I won't be going through anymore liners because I've never had a Biosoft that's torn on me and can reuse them one more time if just peed.
Customer Review: Kushies not so soft on the tushie Summary: 3 Stars
I've been cloth diapering using Bum Genius, Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heineys for about a year now. I originally used gDiapers for a while and was ready to move up into the world of greenness. Well as my toddler eats more and more adult like food, his poop, is well, more adultlike. I felt that for myself, husband parents and baby sitters this might be a little less "gross" if we had something like a Kushie liner to help us out. For me I felt the paper was a little too rough on my son's sensitive bootie, it tore easily and was not wide enough to contain all of his poop. The positive side is that it did flush very nicely, I never had any issues with overflow or clogging like I did with the gDiapers paper liner. I am going to finish up my roll, especially when I'm not with him for the day but would like to try something else.
Customer Review: Really rough and odd length. Summary: 2 Stars
I have been CD'ing my 15-month old for almost 10 months now. About 5 months ago I started using Bummis liners. I'm happy enough with them, but dislike that they stick to my little guy's bottom. After reading the reviews about the Kushies, I decided to give them a shot. I really don't like them! They are very bulky and rough! I would compare the Bummis to a tissue and these to a paper towel (and not one of those soft Bounty ones, either! ;) ) Also, we're currently in medium fitted diapers and the Bummis regular liners are the perfect length. These Kushies liners are loooong, but they're not long enough to cut in half. To use them I have to fold the end over making them even bulkier. They handle the poops pretty well, though. But, overall, I don't like how rough they are on my kiddo's bum. I'll stick with the Bummis.
Customer Review: make cloth diapers a little easier Summary: 5 Stars
We've been using these for well over 6 months, with the fuzzi bunz pocket cloth diapers. They do what they're supposed to and I haven't had any problems with them. They make using cloth diapers a little easier - even when there's a small explosion in the diaper. They're pretty durable, too, I've never had one fall apart on me when changing my sons diaper. That being said - I noticed people saying these can be washed, and someone sounding disappointed because they can't be? They aren't MEANT to be washed. They're meant to be rolled up and flushed along with whatever was left in the diaper. I haven't really done any comparison shopping so I can't speak for the price, but I usually buy a couple rolls at a time and that lasts a couple months. I also have Amazon Prime, so no shipping cost.
Customer Review: Great Product, makes CDing easier Summary: 5 Stars
I was reluctant to buy diaper liners because I thought it would make my decision to cloth diaper less "green" and take away from the money I was saving by not using disposables. However, a couple of months into solid foods and scraping diapers, I rethought my decision. Kushies liners feel like a thick toilet paper, and I have found their texture does not bother my son's bottom.
Poopy diapers are now taken care of in a matter of seconds and tossed into the diaper pail, and when a diaper is wet I throw the wet Kushie into the diaper pail too. I am able to wash and reuse the wet ones over and over and a roll lasts a long time and I feel a bit less green guilt. I also find that when I air dry them, they shrink very little and I get even more life out of a single roll.
