Baby Products Reviews of Kushies Flushable Biodegradable Diaper Liners, 100 Sheets

Customer Review: Must have for cloth diaper users
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great product for those that use cloth diapers. It's basically very strong toilet paper precut to the length of the diaper. When you pull it off the diaper it takes most, if not all of the nasty solid waste with it. In most cases I don't have to anything special to the poopy diaper and it can be put directly into the washer after I flush the paper liner. It's safe for septic tanks too and won't clog your pipes as it's basically just toilet paper. It's the most cost effective way of doing this. I tried just using regular toilet paper and it doesn't work. It just falls apart when you try to take it out. You have to use something like this.

I have tried all the other brands of this product on Amazon. Of all the brands of this product, I like "Kushies Flushable" the best. It had the best balance of soft, and strong. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the pre-cut serrations are poorly done and they can rip in the wrong place if you are not careful. But this seems to be specific to each roll. Most rolls I don't have this problem; it's just annoying when you do get a roll like that.

Customer Review: Not my favorite
Summary: 2 Stars

We spent 12 months doing cloth diapers without a liner. But I'm posting a review for those buyers who are comparing brands of diaper liners. We tried Imse Vimse first, then Kushies at the suggestion of a friend. Imse Vimse wins! But I'll tell you why:

1. Imse Vimse liners seem too big and Kushies seem to fit nicely in the diaper, but when little one walks and crawls around, the liner bunches up. The Imse Vimse liner still covers the width of the diaper even with a little bunching so that you don't end up busting out the dipaer liner.

2. You really can re-use the Imse Vimse liners. Usually. The Kushies shrink and it's impossible. Throw the IV's in the wash with the dirty diapers, pull them out before they hit the dryer (if you remember, if not, it works too), and they'll be dry by the time your diapers are done.

3. Kushies are thicker. Which is nice in theory, but I worry about flushing them. The IVs are thinner but the idea of them in my septic system doesn't freak me out quite as much.

That's my review. Hope it's helpful!

Customer Review: Not Good
Summary: 2 Stars

I wanted to use cloth diapers for our fourth child, but my husband wasn't too keen on the idea, mainly because he thought I was busy enough and didn't need to add washing diapers to my day. Anyway, like most of you are probably doing, I researched. I went with the Bum Genius and this liner. I started using them when the baby was about six weeks old to ensure a proper fit. Nursing babies go VERY frequently and do not have solid waste. The liners basically held the babies waste right up against her skin. I changed the baby every hour the first day and saw her getting redder each time. By the evening she had a full blown rash. I stopped using the cloth diapers to let her heal and tried again with the same results. I seriously wondered if cloth diapers were a mistake. Then, I tried the cloth diapers WITHOUT the liners and they work GREAT! I like them better than the disposables because they are softer and more absorbent. I've been using them for a couple of months without any additional problems.

Customer Review: Worst liner I've ever used
Summary: 2 Stars

We've tried a number of different diaper liners to use with our GroVia/GroBaby cloth diapers. These ones were the worst ones I've experienced (compared to Bummis, Bumkins, GroVia bioliners).

The size of the liner didn't really bother me. The two top complaints I have about these are:

1. The liner is super rough
The liner material is very coarse and stiff. It feels like the cheapest kitchen paper towel you can get, and a bit worse. I can't imagine these being comfortable for my baby's soft butt.

2. It does not wick away moisture
Wetness stays on the liner, as the moisture is not wicked away from the skin. The GroVia bioliners actually wicks away the moisture so the skin feels dry.

What are the "pro"s of this product? I guess it's bio-degradable and flushable. As far as a diaper liner goes, I would never buy these again.

Customer Review: A Must-have when Starting Solid Food
Summary: 4 Stars

I received three rolls of these at my baby shower and didn't start using them until my daughter began eating solid food. They do a wonderful job with that "transitional" poo that happens when a baby consumes breast milk as well as solid food. We keep a roll right next to the changing table - it's easy to tear off a strip with one hand. They fit well in fitted and pocket diapers of many brands. They do bunch a bit of she is very active, but usually stay in place. We have a house built in the '40s with old pipes and the liners flush just fine. We occasionally use liners as wipes (as that we use cloth wipes) when it's an especially messy diaper.

No, these are not super soft, but they haven't irritated my daughter's skin and I find them quite durable. One roll has a lot of liners - I can't imagine being able to use all three rolls before hse is potty learned!
