Customer Review: Now I wish I had this toy when I was a kid.

The moon itself is made of a plastic that is pleasant to touch; it's soft but not too soft, it barely bends if you squeeze it. The rechargeable battery inside is NiMH, which seems like an ideal worry-free choice for this kind of a gadget, it has no memory and no toxicity of NiCd, no death by deep discharge like Li-ion, is not as prone to falling apart with time as alkaline batteries. Apparently, this toy has been designed with plenty of good thinking and good judgment. And pride. We had a problem with our first unit we received, the same problem two other reviewers reported: the moon part refused to charge. The manual found in the packaging has the manufacturer's email, which we used. They replied in a few hours offering us a replacement which has arrived a day after.
Functionally, the unit is capable of emitting very gentle soft glow in 4 colors: blue, green, purple and red, with optional 30 minutes auto shutoff timer and an option of leaving it cycling through the 4 glow colors, slowly transitioning from one to another. There is a button on the bottom: you press it once - the unit turns on in a color-switching mode with the timer on. Next to the button, there is a red light, which shows you the status of the 30 min auto shutoff timer: if the light is on then the timer is on and vice versa. Press and hold the same button again - the timer turns off. That's the state I usually leave the unit: timer off + colors shifting, in my little bandit's bedroom. It obviously creates sweet, mysterious atmosphere which lulls him to sleep, keeps him in his bedroom, if he wakes up for one reason or another, it helps him to go back to sleep without parents involvement. He was 3 years old when we bought him this toy along with another 2 glowing nightlight toys, now he turned 4 and we do see considerable improvement in his sleep patterns.
So far, we are very happy with this product and with the manufacturer.
