Customer Review: This is the Crib Rail Teether Guard to get!

Our daughter was chewing up the crib rail like crazy. We have a white crib (porta-crib size) and she would chomp through the white paint/coating on the crib rail and have white specs all over her mouth. I was worried that she was eating paint. I tried a few different things bought in stores, and they were terrible and didn't fit the rail very well or stay on - one was held on by straps that my daughter could easily un-do.
This one was recommended by a person who worked in the baby store, and also less expensive than the other options I'd already tried. It comes rolled up in a nice small box. It's VERY easy to install, unlike the others we tried - you just peel off the backing and stick it on, and it's easy to cut to the length of your crib rail. I was worried that it would be too wide for our portacrib but it fits just perfectly around the whole thing. You only need it to cover the parts of the rail that your baby's teeth can reach, so if your rail is thicker it should still be good.
The only drawback to installation is that the instructions clearly say to wait 8-10 hours after sticking it on for the bond to seal, so you can't just put it on and then have the baby go at it. It seems well stuck on as soon as you install it, but we followed these directions and it REALLY sticks well! Maybe the negative reviews didn't allow this bonding period. My daughter always quickly figures out how to peel things off or rip them apart, and she's had this on her crib for a month now and hasn't been able to do anything to it.
The guard feels very nice and looks clean - not cheap at all. It gives the crib rail a nice, safe look. Best of all, my baby has a built-in teether on her crib that she uses all the time. Don't be worried about the negative reviews. This thing really does its job well and you won't regret getting it.
