This is the best product for those messy eaters on the go. I bought it for traveling and when we go out to eat and it works like a charm. No need to worry about how clean the table is because you have your very own placemat. Also it catches a lot of food they drop and if your child is like mine they still want what they dropped. The nice thing is that it doesn't end up in their lap. I would recommend anyone with a small child who still eats with their hands to buy this. I have not used this product much in restaurants because my little one (almost 8 months) isn't eating much in the way of solids and her grandparents always want to hold her so she is hardly in a high chair when we eat out. :o) I have used it with my high chair pulled up to the dining table and it is great at catching cheerios that she moves around the mat. It also catches spills so I don't have to clean the table all the time. I know it will be of more use in the next few months though.Customer Review: This is great!

I didn't like spending hte money for it but we definetly got our money out of it! We use these all the time at home for every meal. It is big enough to get all the crumbs. Also when kids learn to spoon feed themselves it can make for a mess but this placemat really helps the mess stay in one place. Also the material is great because it keeps crumbs where they are. Yes it stains easy, but with a lil vegetable oil it comes out easy too. Just let a few drops stay on overnight.
Suctions are as good as any other, gives you enough time to stop the toddler from typical toddler things.
Overall, impressed enough I paid full price for one to stay at home and put first one I got from consignment store in the diaper bag for on-the-go.

the green, pink, & blue versions (with the cow jumping over the moon) are perfect for restaurants that don't have tablecloths. easy to wash and store in the diaper bag. yellow (hippo) version seems different -- sticks to itself a bit too much but is still effective. i don't recommend the yellow one unless you just LOVE yellow. yes, there really is a difference!
