Customer Review: Worked great for us!

We used this placemat for about 6-8 months with our son. We were very sad when we lost it. We used it predominately at restaurants and it gave us a little peace of mind that our son could eat without the hassle of dinnerware or the thought of him eating off of the questionable table. It also helped us clean up his mess ultra quick -- we simply took the placemat to the bathroom, dumped the extras in the trash, quickie clean up in the sink, with a more thorough hand washing at home. What a dream!
A lot of people have reviewed how their kids were able to grab the placemat and throw it. This really wasn't our experience. When our son tried to rip it up, we would simply correct him to leave it alone. Much like we don't let him throw dishes, utensils or food, it's as simple as that. If you child is determined or doesn't listen well, I could see how this might be a problem. Don't expect the suckers on the bottom to resist a child's determination or provide the restraint that adult guidance should being providing; the suckers are simply there to keep the placemat from sliding on the surface while the child is eating.
Also, people have complained about not being able to roll the placemat up for storage. Simply fold the left and right "wings" in and then roll the whole thing up from top to bottom. It pretty much rolls up into the catch tray. Nothing to it.
We're about to have twins and we're definitely getting two more of these.... not that we're ever going to eat out again once they arrive. :)
