Customer Review: helpful product that could use some improvements
Summary: 3 Stars

My son became too big for the regular swaddle, so I was happy to find that Kiddopotamus made a big baby size. Our son would not fall asleep without a swaddle until he was 4 1/2 months old. The Kiddopotamus makes swaddling much easier. Trying to do it yourself with a blanket is just too hard, and neither my husband nor I ever did it correctly. But, I am only giving this product 3 stars (I was close to giving it 4) because - 1) the placement pad (for the velcro tabs) ripped, but it was still usable torn 2) the thing worried me a bit because on occasion he was able to kick the bottom part of the swaddle off, and then he attempted to shimmy out of the top part. This resulted in finding him with the top part of the swaddle up around his neck and dangerously close to over his face 3) also, the first time we used it, he had chaffing on his neck. We remedied this by pulling the swaddle down and across instead of straight across. As I am typing this, I realize these criticisms sounds really bad! But 99% of the time, there was no problem, and as stated, our child had to be swaddled to sleep. Just be aware that you must be careful about how to wrap your baby in this product.

Customer Review: Much quicker than Miracle Blanket
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good transition swaddle from the miracle blanket. My son hates being hot, so we use this during his daytime naps.... Even though it is not as tight as the miracle blanket, it gets the job done. The velcro is ok, but it is sorta' big, and not long enough. My son is 2 months, 13 lbs., and he seems a little loose in it. I wish it came in a longer length so that I could use this for a while. It says that u can use it until 22 lbs., but that must be for a squatty short baby :)

At night, I use a fleece sleeping bag, and swaddle his arms with the miracle blanket. Since he sleeps much longer at night, I want him to be able to move somewhat. So that miracle blanket may be too short, but can be used with a sleeping bag.

PROS:

longer length
quick velcro wrapping
velcro in 2 different placement
easier to put on and take off
nice thin material
*swaddle design holds arms separately; similar to miracle blanket

CONS:

not long enough
made for fat babies
velcro pieces need to be bigger

**It gets the job done.

Customer Review: farily good product, but not able to find its fit for my baby
Summary: 3 Stars

The cotton is soft, so a baby can not be really wrapped tight within this product. On the other side, the baby has flexiblity to move hands and foots when being wrapped, and may not feel too uncomfortable which tends to lead to crying.

The swaddle is too big for a baby, definitely can not be used for a new born. My baby is about 13 lbs, and I can put him totally inside, including his head and hair. So every time I wrap around the top of the Swaddle to make it shorter and then wrap around my baby. Without that, I would need to wait for my baby to be around 20 lbs to use this product. At that time, my baby would be nealry one year old, and would not need this any more.

If you want to use as an extra soft comfortor for the baby, it is OK. Considering the size, I am a little bit confused what range of months a baby this product is targeting.

There is not much special about this product except the cotton is very soft. The price $26 is pretty high, but maybe that is what you pay extra for "Organic".

Customer Review: Best Swaddler Straight Out of the Dryer
Summary: 4 Stars

I have tried all the swaddlers (Miracle Blanket, Woombie, this one-originally made by Kiddopotamus), and have found this one to be the best for my babies. The only issue with it is that if you use it a few times, the cotton gets stretched out, and at that point it is easy for them to break out of it. Fresh out of the dryer, though, for the first couple of uses, it is great! I have the cotton, fleece, and gingham versions and have used them with 2 babies so far. My kids have managed to wiggle out of the Miracle Blanket (and never seem as comfortable), and the Woombie doesn't keep their arms down well enough (she brings her hands to her mouth so the blanket is soaked in the morning). This one is much better, but buy a few of them so you can have one fresh clean "shrunken" one every time baby goes to bed. I wrap it very tight, and while it is a tiny bit stretched out when she wakes up, her arms are still inside.

Customer Review: Good idea but too stretchy
Summary: 2 Stars

I ordered this and a microfleece SwaddleMe. While the fabric of this one is nice to the touch, it is too stretchy to do a very good job of swaddling. Once I try to bring the flap with the velcro tabs around to secure it, the tabs are too far beyond the velcro on the first flap and main body pocket to work. The few times I have put it on my daughter to sleep, she has pulled her arms out and woken herself up. I thought maybe we could use it as she got older and wider, but she has just about outgrown its length and can still not use it (and she's pretty chubby for her length). The fleece swaddler has worked perfectly for a couple months now (some of the velcro is finaly giving out, though, but it is still holding out), but the cotton one simply doesn't cut it. The point is, unless your baby is HUGE for his/her length, the cotton material is just too stretchy to keep a little one swaddled.
