Baby Products Reviews of Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, Small, Pink

Customer Review: Swaddle or free
Summary: 4 Stars

This was a wonderful invention for our baby. She is able to sleep with out startling herself now and she can stay warm. We ended up purchasing an extra SwaddleMe to have on hand for when one is in the wash.

Our baby was born with marks on her hands from sucking them in the womb. In this blanket we secure her quickly and she can wiggle her hands free if she needs to. Most swaddle blankets do not allow her to have her hands free. We are able to swaddle her with her hands down or we can loosen it up so she can get just her hands free. In other swaddle blankets (Including the miracle blanket), she becomes frustrated because she can not break free and that ends up waking her.

We have also started using this in the car seat so we do not have to bundle her in a coat which saves time. We also add a blanket over her to add extra warmth.

I only gave this 4 stars because of the material used as it is not useful in the summer weather and because my baby is still growing into it. It is only rated for 8- 14 pounds and my baby was just over 6 pounds when we first started using it. If the velcro was larger it would have been more secure for us in the beginning; however we managed to hold it closed most of the time.

Customer Review: SwaddleMe saved me
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this product. I was never able to get my regular receiving blankets to stay put on my baby and he could wriggle out before too long. The Kiddopotamus swaddle blanket was perfect - you can quickly and easily swaddle your baby making them much happier and *sleep longer*! (totally fool proof). I also like that you can undo just the bottom portion for diaper changes. I tried other manufactures of a similar "swaddle" product but you have to totally unwrap your baby making them wake up even more which in turn upsets them even more - not a good thing.
I bought several of these in case one was in the laundry because it was a must-have.

The only suggestion I have for the designers is that the single color models are harder to see the Velcro closure patch at night. So for that reason, I liked the patterned models better because the location of the Velcro (receiving part) was easier to see [as the Velcro part is one color] against a patterned background in the dark of night.

Customer Review: Great item to have for baby!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these for my second child. I always had the hardest time swaddling my son correctly and he always 'escaped' so I decided not to mess around this time and get a swaddle wrap.

Having a winter baby, I chose the microfleece in pink for our new daughter. I love it and I can't say enough good things about it! It is super easy to use and she will stay swaddled for as long as I have her in it with no problems. The velcro holds great and it even has a slot so you can still strap them in to bouncers or swings.

I have washed the wrap several times and it is still as soft as I took it out of the packaging. The velcro is holding up well to the washing and I don't have problems with it latching onto the blanket.

I really recommend this product to parents with newborns that love to be swaddled. Much easier than using receiving blankets to swaddle your baby. They won't escape from this! :)

Customer Review: We love this!
Summary: 5 Stars

We love this blanket so much, we've given it a "pet" name! My baby only stayed swaddled until she was about 2 weeks, then could wiggle out of even the tightest wrap and cried almost all night. Then of course would sleep all day... then would be wide awake at night again! It was frustrating! When she was about 6 weeks, I remembered that I had bought this Kiddopotamus blanket (it was just sitting in the closet) and thought I'd try swaddling again. That night, she slept 9 hours straight! Every night since, she sleeps at least 7 hours, and some days as much as 10! Unlike other swaddle blankets I have, this blanket is soft and stretchy so she can move a little if she is uncomfortable (but arms stay in there) and you can open the bottom easily for diaper changes or when the temp is warmer. We think it's a lifesaver for those who like to sleep at night. I think it has magic powers. ;) And, it's cheap!

Customer Review: Too big, velcro not strong enough - Get a Miracle Blanket!
Summary: 1 Stars

I received a SwaddleMe as a gift. The first problem I discovered was that even with the small size I had received that when I wrapped it around my son, the velcro pieces didn't meet. In other words, the wrap was too large. I attached the velcro at the tightest position possible but my son still managed to squeeze his little arms out the neck - not a pretty sight. The next problem I ran into is that while the bottom of the wrap is supposed to support the baby's feet like a womb, my son out of frustration to get out of it would just bust the bottom completely out so that his legs were completely exposed. In fact, he tore the velcro that secures the bottom pouch to the top. A friend recommended the Miracle Blanket and although it looks like a straightjacket it works and he has never busted out of it. It is one size fits all because of its design which is helpful as well.
