Customer Review: Wish I had it from day one

This is the best thing that I bought for my baby and I should have registered for it. I went the first six weeks without it and I found that my daughter, a great sleeper but also very active from birth, would get woken up when she would undo the swaddle we had put her to bed in. A friend of mine got this from her registry and I went out and got it the minute I watched how easily she swaddled her son. Using the SwaddleMe, I could swaddle her even when I was barely awake and it stayed put even with her constantly kicking legs. She started sleeping through the night immediately. I think she would have a lot sooner had she been able to stay swaddled all night. I'm not making any promises that this will make your baby sleep through the night, but it is worth a try. I will buy this as a gift for every baby shower I ever attend I am so sold on this product.Customer Review: Good idea but buy *after* baby arrives

My son was 7 lbs and 19 1/2" when he was born. I found this swaddler blanket to be a little short for him. He didn't mind having his legs swaddled traditionally but he needs access to his hands. When I tried swaddling just his lower half in this swaddler, he immediately attempted to kick out of it. He will allow his legs to be tightly wrapped otherwise. I don't know why he dislikes this swaddler so much.
My daughter loved to be swaddled and I wishh I'd had this for her. My advice is to wait until after Baby comes, get to know to what degree s/he likes to be swaddled and, if so, buy it then.
The fabric is super soft and it folds nicely for storage; the product isn't a problem. Like a previous review, I recommend the sleep sack instead. It allows more room for the kicky baby yet provides warmth and comfort for tiny babies.

This is my 5th baby and we've just discovered swaddle blankets. I haven't tried the more expensive options because this one works like a charm. It does a great job of keeping my sweet boy comfortably swaddled. His hands stay in there really well, but I don't feel like it's uncomfortably tight. The fabric has a tiny bit of stretch to it, which I like, so he can adjust his position a little bit. We haven't had any problems with the velcro coming undone at all. I also like the way this product washes. It didn't shrink or get fuzzy balls and the velcro works as well after a washing as it did before. I HIGHLY recommend this product! I can see us getting the next bigger size once he outgrows this one. Oh, and my baby was 9 lbs. and 22 inches at birth and is now 10 lbs. He fit immediately at birth and still fits perfectly in this blanket.Customer Review: Get a real blanket instead

We got this as a gift when our daughter was 2 weeks old and tried to use it even though we'd already pretty much mastered swaddling her with a stretchy thermal blanket. Even though she was born at 8 lbs and has grown quickly (over 11 lbs at this point) she practically falls out of this blanket. I don't know what size baby they were envisioning when they designed this product, but it certainly wasn't an average sized newborn.
The silliest thing is that the only thing they'd have to do to remedy the problem is make the velcro area bigger to allow more tightness, but they just put this tiny patch of velcro on there making it fairly useless unless you just want a weird, non-rectangular blanket to drape on your baby. Maybe it'll work on her by the time she's 4 or 5 months old, by which time she won't want to be swaddled at all.

I can swaddle my baby in a receiving blanket much better and tighter than with this particular swaddler. It's just not snug enough. My daughter at just a few weeks old could pop an arm out within minutes. I registered for (and received) 2 of these and i have not used them more than the first attempt. I received another swaddler however, from the hospital gift shop that is made from a thin cotton material (like a t-shirt) with a really long wrapping end and it is wonderful!!!! My daughter (who is now 3 months old) actually smiles when I start to wrap her into it. It is so efficient that I can wrap her at bedtime and she's still snugged into it 7 hours later when she wakes up and she's still smiling. I regretfully do not know the brand of this snuggler but please shop around for it b/f buying this one.
