Customer Review: Swaddling Without the Hassles & "Brain Surgery" involved

I got this as a present (one of her presents) from a close friend who has 3 kids - wow, does she know about 'new mom can't-live-without items' !
Swaddling newborns really helps calm them & put them to sleep - I used to think that the practice is an old wives tale or something because I thought it would make babies uncomfortable (hello:straightjacket?). However, it does make a big difference & helps them sleep through the night.
I laud the inventor of this infant wrap. Why didn't anyone think of this when I had my first child over a decade ago? It used to take several minutes for me to swaddle my baby using a regular blanket (& it always looked sloppy since I'm not very good at it), but with this wrap, it only takes seconds. If you're a new mom, you know how precious time can be, and every minute you save doing anything is a lifesaver.
I'm not sure what size I have, but I still use it on my 4 month old baby (who's in the 75th percentile when it comes to size) - although I can't wrap her shoulders with it anymore, so I only use it as a cover up for her lower body when she gets cold. I think she started disliking being swaddled by the time she got to 3 mos, so the age range recommendation is just right. It looks a bit ratty now because we've used & washed it so frequently.
Go ahead, buy this for yourself or for that new mom on your gift list. After all, what do you have to lose but $10 for this million-dollar invention
Customer Review: A Must Have for Baby and Parent!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I just recently had our first baby and like so many of you out there, wanted the best for our son and was suckered into buying every product known to man. Ironically, we did not buy the Swaddle Me wrap because I thought it looked silly and would be useless, I mean how many babies need swaddling anyway? This was the "first time dad" stupidity and lack of experience talking.
Luckily, friends bought this for us and told us that we would soon learn that this would become our bestfriend and lifesaver. Boy were they mindreaders! A blanket is a joke to swaddle a newborn in. Our son broke free almost instantly. I swear only a skilled nurse can wrap them as tight as they needed to be. I thought they were taught this trick to fool us into thinking that we all had such quiet babies so that you would leave the hospital as quick as possible, before you learned otherwise!
One night I suggested that we try that "wrap thing" to see if it would work, a last ditch effort I thought. Holy Cow! This wrap is amazing!!!!! Yes your child will look like a human PEZ but hey, who cares as long as their happy!
Our son now sleeps peacefully through the night and I am buying a larger size (4-6 months)for him since he is growing out of the newborn size. Buy it and you will sleep like you did before you had your baby, I promise!!!!!!!!!
Customer Review: Swaddling is the best but this blanket is not

I am a professional nanny of about 10 years and I have come to view swaddling as one of the best baby care tricks you can ever use. I have NEVER dealt with a baby that did not sleep better when swaddled. There have been many babies who strongly fought the swaddling process if they were not used to it but after a few times it worked like a charm to keep them alseep. I have cared for dozens of babies including several sets of twins and triplets and truly, I could not have survived if I could not swaddle. Many parents told me that their baby did not like to be swaddled because they would always get out of the blanket within a few minutes. I always tell them that just because the baby gets out does not mean that they dont like it. You just have to find the right products to help keep the baby wrapped up tight. I have found that the Swaddle me does not do the job very well for most babies, but the Miracle Blanket really does! I love the miracle blanket, I have only found one baby who could get himself out of it and he usually only removed one arm so it did not wake him up. It is pricey but very very worth it! The Miracle Blanket will change the way your baby sleeps for the better so it is worth the money. The Swaddle me just cant get the job done, or at least not as well so I never recommend it to any parent.Customer Review: Greatest invention ever!!!!

EVERY PARENT SHOULD BE SENT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL WITH ONE OF THESE!!!
When my husband and I brought our daughter home from the hospital she had a really hard time sleeping. She would wake herself every few minutes with her jerky movements. We tried everything to get her to sleep but nothing worked. We watched the "Happiest baby on the block" DVD and got the idea from Dr. Karp to swaddle her. We tried to wrap her in a regular blanket but she was too strong and un-swaddled herself in a matter of minutes. We thought since that didn't work that nothing would. Then one day I was looking online at my sister-in-law's baby registry and saw she had registered for the SwaddleMe blanket. At this point I thought what the heck, and bought one for myself. It definitely was a gift sent from God. The first night we swaddled her she slept for 3 hours straight; something she had never done. The next night she slept for 4 hours straight. She is now two months old and we still use the blanket every night. She is sleeping some nights for 10 hours straight without waking herself. We had thought after having a baby we'd never get a good night's sleep again, but with this blanket we are able to sleep all night. I would recommend this blanket to anyone with a baby. It really does work!

My wife and I just got this for our 3 week old ~20in 10lb daughter. Works great. If you haven't read "Happiest Baby on the Block" you may be missing out on why swaddling is so important for your state of mind and helping your baby (as well as other great techniques to stop fussiness!).
We bought both the flannel and the fleece Swaddleme. The flannel doesn't stretch as much so it is better at staying tight with the size she is now. The fleece stretches a lot, so we are saving that for when she gets bigger (or using an Ace bandage on top of it).
A suggestion to those that are waiting for your baby to grow into this, or have all these receiving blankets that are too small to swabble your baby in (arms still get free). I found that by taking an Ace bandage (stretch material that is used to wrap a sprained ankle or hurt knee) and cutting it to a length that would wrap around the baby once and tuck into itself to stay secure is an excellent "belt" to hold the blanket tight at night or during fussy periods. I wrap it around the blanket and only around her arms. IMPORTANT: all I do to secure the Ace bandage is tuck it back into itself, I don't use any clips or pins so they can't accidently come off and become a hazard.
