Baby Products Reviews of Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Knit, Small, SageCustomer Review: Perfect Swaddle! Summary: 5 StarsI received two of these for our newborn son and they are fantastic. My son constantly wiggled himself free and would wake himself up when I swaddled him in receiving blankets. This makes it easy to get a tight swaddle and the Velcro ensures it stays on well. Other reviews state that its too big, but if you tuck the left side of the swaddle under neath baby it fits perfectly.
Customer Review: Okay, but there's a better option Summary: 2 StarsThis is going to sound very biased if not written by a corporate office, but I can only say, sorry, this is based on real life experience.
We received one of these at our baby shower and knew from other people that swaddling was the way to go with a newborn. Once our son was born though, this didn't work all that well. He was too long and skinny. The SwaddleMe has a very small velcro strip for the top wing to attach to. Due to how skinny he is, the tabs would go right past the strip. The only way for us to swaddle him was to put the wing under him and hope he didn't wiggle too much. Also, when he would start kicking, the leg covering, which is also held by Velcro would come undone. I would repeatedly go into his room to find either his arms or legs free, if the whole thing wasn't off of him.
All of that said, a trip through Babies R Us found a better solution for our situation. The Halo Sleepsack Swaddle has a zippered sack to hold legs. The wings attach to the sack and have a good size Velcro strip to attach to. It is more expensive, but we haven't had any problems using it. I recently went back to the store to buy some more of them. They're about double the price, but my sleep is worth it.
Overall, the SwaddleMe is an okay product, but depending on your baby's dimensions (skinny and long), it might not be the best one.
Customer Review: Fabulous Product! Summary: 5 StarsThese things are indispensable for moms of new babies. They come in quite a few colors and fabrics, so you can get ones that are appropriate for any season. We had about 6 that we used for my son up until his 8 month birthday or so when he decided he didn't want to be swaddled while sleeping and graduated to regular blankets. They wash & wear very well and are especially great for parents (like us) who never quite mastered the art of forming a 'baby burrito' with a regular blanket. I bought 2 of these for a friend with a new baby and highly recommend them!
Customer Review: Excellent Summary: 5 StarsThe product is so great! Definitely helps a baby get to sleep! Would highly recommend
Customer Review: a good value Summary: 5 StarsThis is no "miracle blanket," but it is quality, less expensive alternative - especially since your baby will only need to be swaddled for the first 3 months or so. I would highly recommend the fleece for colder months. The cotton is great, but I didn't find it warm enough for winter. The velcro tabs allow you to get this super tight and doesn't allow your little one to wriggle out!
