Baby Products Reviews of Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Knit, Small, SageCustomer Review: Easier than blanket swaddling, to be sure! Summary: 4 Stars
I love the soft fabric and how simple it is to use the SwaddleMe. My daughter prefers to have her arms up and out of her swaddling though, and the SwaddleMe is a little bit awkward when the necessary adustments are made (note that it's not actually meant for this kind of wrapping). If it were made just a little bit more "adjustable" I think it would be more appealing. Additionaly, at just under 9lb, my newborn daughter won't fit in it for long, so if your newborn is larger, keep this in mind. All in all though, I'm happy with the SwaddleMe and pleased not to have to wrap and re-wrap her in a receiving blanket all of the time. It's a good deal for new parents.
Customer Review: Warning!!! Summary: 1 Stars
We bought this item and could not wait to use it on our newborn daughter. Luckily, she was laying right next to me in her bouncy chair at the time because within 5 minutes, I looked over at her and the blanket had covered her whole face. When I lowered it, the skin around her mouth was blue.
We tried it again 3 weeks later, when she was a bit bigger. Initially, it seemed fine but within a few minutes, it slid up to cover her mouth and nose again.
I would not recommend this product. I will throw mine away because I am afraid to give it or sell it to anyone!
Buyer beware!!!!
Customer Review: Big help for colicy baby Summary: 5 Stars
Since my second child turned out to have colic, I looked for any little thing that might help. This product was well worth it. I do a pretty good job of swaddling with a waffle blanket, so I didn't buy one of these for my first child, but my second was so squirmy that she would work her way out of it within minutes. The velcro closures helped keep the blanket in place. It was very easy to use and I was even able to change her diaper without unwrapping her arms. You may think you don't need a blanket like this one, but I will tell you from experience, it is definately worth buying at least one.
Customer Review: An easy way to swaddle Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product. Because I had a large baby, I was only able to swaddle my baby a few weeks with the traditional blanket wrap. This wrap easily accommodates him and does not come undone like the blanket. He sleeps better when swaddled and I do not have to worry about loose bedding covering his face should he wiggle free. I tried another brand (First Years) and the shoulder opening is too large and he was able to wiggle both arms out as soon as I laid him down. This brand is by far the best. I purchased three of them so one is always ready.
Customer Review: Did not work for me Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this product because I liked the idea of being able to easily remove the leg pouch to change diapers. I purchased the small which is designed to fit 7 to 14 lbs. The first time I used it, I realized it did not fit my son. Although he weighs 9 1/2 lbs., the wing stretched far past the velcro fastener. My husband and I watched him wiggle his arm free in 15 minutes. I would suggest that you just purchase a regular receiving blanket. Just make sure it is large enough (about 30x40) so that you have enough fabric to effectively wrap your baby.
