When my daughter was born, I didn't know about swaddling, and it would take me HOURS to get her to sleep! I would feed or rock her in my arms until she falls asleep, then put her in her crib... and she'd flail her arms, wake up and cry, and I had to start all over! What a nightmare!
Then I figured out that since her arms wake her, it would make sense to wrap her in something so she couldn't move them as much... so I started wrapping her in regular receiving blankets. It worked! It became much easier to get her to sleep. But then she wiggled out of those receiving blankets and wake up again.
When she was a little over a month old, somehow I came across SwaddleMe blankets on the Internet and immediately bought it. It worked like a charm! It was so easy to wrap my daughter in it, and it stayed put. My daughter started sleeping so much better!
I wish I found those blankets sooner - it would've saved me from so many sleepless nights!
2 years later, my son was born, and thankfully I already knew about those blankets from the start. He goes to sleep great in the SwaddleMe blanket! Out of curiosity, I tried to put him to sleep without this blanket, and his arms wake him right away - exactly the same as my daughter!
I consider this blanket one of the most important baby items you could buy. It should be a must for a new mother who wants to get some sleep!

I bought this item and the Miracle Blanket - Periwinkle Blue at the same time. Initially, I thought the SwaddleMe looked easier to use and was clearly was cheaper, but I find that I am using the Miracle Blanket almost exclusively. The two velcro tabs on the SwaddleMe are harder to manipulate than I thought they would be, especially with a struggling baby, and swaddling several times a day. In my opinion the Miracle Blanket is overall simpler to use. The Miracle Blanket accommodates all sizes, so it can adjust to baby's growth, and may be a better purchase/gift if you don't know how big the baby will be. Both of these items leave room for baby's legs to move, which is good. (Supposedly, restricting leg movement puts the baby at risk for abnormal hip development.) Don't forget Dr. Karp's DVD The Happiest Baby on the Block - The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Baby Sleep Longer (DVD) because swaddling is only one of several steps to calming your baby. This is my second baby and so far, it's been a much better experience than with my firstborn. I didn't know about these techniques back then and my first baby's constant inconsolable crying made me absolutely miserable.Customer Review: Life saver!!!

We first purchased the 100% cotton SwaddleMe and it worked great for a while, but it stretches too easily. We live in a very hot climate, so I didn't know if flannel would be too great, but bought one to try. It's awesome!!! We're using the same blanket now on a second baby and it's still in great shape. Great quality!! But, I do recommend purchasing at least 2 so you have an extra when you have to wash one post blow-out.:) We revert back to our cotton while washing the flannel, but that doesn't hold the baby's arms in as well because it's too stretchy. The nice thing about these blankets is that the price makes it easy to by multiples of the same as they are so affordable. I was looking for places to buy some more flannel and saw some other swaddle blankets and they are more than double the price I paid for this awesome one. I have no complaints on this product and endorse it 100%. Whatever that's worth from a mom of 3 happy girls. Which makes one happy mom.Customer Review: Warm and cozy

My month-old son loves being swaddled. We received several Kiddopotamus swaddlemes, including this gingham example. He feels comfortable and stays warm, despite my wife's preference for arctic-like thermostat settings. He sleeps swaddled in one of these or a lightweight receiving blanket, depending on the ambient temperature. They wash well and wear well.
The swaddleme is also great when leaving the house. I pull him out of his carseat and swaddle him before entering stores. I can carry him and he won't flail about like a suicidal football with arms. As he gets bigger and starts preferring to keep his legs stretched out, we're exploring slings and carriers, but the swaddleme will hold a special place in my heart.

This is a great product for a few weeks, then the velcro gets really weak and your child will be busting out! I go in to find my son with both arms out and one leg out. No matter how tight I make the blanket, the velcro comes apart. I encourage you to buy their other SwaddleMe blanket with the larger velcro flap.
