Baby Products Reviews of Kiddopotamus Dreamsie Sleeper with Sleeves Microfleece Large, BlueCustomer Review: why isn't there a medium? Summary: 1 Stars
I would rate this product with five stars except for the sizing.
We bought the large. My son is nine months old, twenty pounds, and 27 inches. So the large should fit - and it will, many months from now. For now the sack is a SIDS risk as it easily slips over his head. My kid has a big head, right? This shouldn't happen.
So we bought the small. Tiny! If I had known better, I would have timed my son's conception so that it would be summer now, when he fits into neither.
We'll save the small for the next kid. We'll hope the large fits before the end of cold weather. But I'm seriously steamed that there's no medium to allow for another gradation in size. I really like kiddopotamus's products - looooved the snuzzler for the infant car seat. But this one I have to rate so low simply because there's going to be a lot of babies who will have to use something else in between the small and the large.
Customer Review: Misleading sizing otherwise great! Summary: 3 Stars
I love this style of sleeper but my son had already grown out of the Carters 'One Size' (0-9 month old) at 4 months old. The sizing on these say Large, 6 to 15 months, 16 to 24 pounds, 7.26 to 10.89kg, 26" to 31" length. My son is big for his age (95th percentile), at 16lbs 15oz and 26 3/4" long, which is well within the sizing parameters - but this thing is HUGE. I was worried about it coming up over his nose/mouth because the neck opening is much bigger than his head, and there is a tag inside that says using one that's too big may cause SIDS.
UPDATE 2 months later: My son is 6 months old now, almost 30" long and 20 pounds. We can use the sleeper now, though it is still really big on him. It is very warm and will definitely fit him for several more months.
Customer Review: Zipper Cover Could Be Better Summary: 4 Stars
This sleep sack overall is great. The large size is plenty big and works for our 6 month by rolling up the sleeves. The fleece is good quality and a nice weight for over a sleeper. My only compliant is that the zipper cover at the top doesn't cover very well. You really have to be diligent and be certain that the triangle piece of fleece covers the top of the zipper completely. This takes a little tugging, which can be disturbing for a sleepy baby. One night we thought we had the zipper covered but discovered the next morning that we hadn't because there were tiny scratches all over our baby's chin. We haven't had the problem again since, but it's something we check every night.
Customer Review: Good night and sleep tight Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this dreamsie for my 3 and half months old baby. He is 18 lbs and 26 inches. He's a big baby and I hope he doesn't outgrow this dreamsie in a month or two. I like that once I put him in it for the night, he seems to sleep so much better. He used to kick the blanket off him, then it got too cold for him and he would cry out for us. Now he's not able to do that no more. He's warm and in "deep sleep" with it. I like the fact that there is no way my baby can wiggle the dreamsie onto his face. I now have a better sleep myself too by knowing he won't be cold in the night no more. No more getting up in the middle of the night to check on him. I love the dreamsie!
Customer Review: great for winter Summary: 5 Stars
My little guy is 6 mo old and we love the sleep sacks to keep him warm. We had several Carter's 0-9 months but he has outgrown them. (We don't use blankets because he kicks his legs up while in bed.) Now that it is getting to be winter, we put him in footed PJs and then zip this sleep sack over the top. He is currently 16 1/2 pounds and 69 cm; there is plenty of room in the leg and body area for growth. My only complaint is that the arms seem a little short. Right now, they are long enough, but they seem short in proportion to the overall length of the item. The fleece is soft and seems to wash well; I let it air dry.
