This item does not stay in place. If my baby leans forward the sides fall inward, then she cannot put her head back because they are in her way. They are also pretty restrictive when they cradle her head, but do not prevent her head from slumping forward when she sleeps. We used it for a weekend and it bothered her so much she began crying each time we put her in the car. I asked around and was told by a number of parents that the u-shaped neck pillows are more helpful.Customer Review: Great Product!

I bought this for my second son's infant carseat before he was born. My first son always had a slumpy head in his carseat and the rainbow shaped head supports were useless. This works great. It did a wonderful job of keeping his head supported even when we were comming home from the hospital and I am still using it today, 5 mos. later. I wish I would have had one for my older son, and I would definately recommend it.Customer Review: Works, but hard to get baby in car seat

This works great for keeping a baby's head up straight, however, it can make getting those car seat straps out from the baby even more difficult in those little carriers. If you have difficulty getting your child in a car seat in the first place, I wouldn't recommend it, but if a straight head is a must, I would definitly recommend it. It also keeps thier head from falling forward while they are asleep, which is great.Customer Review: design flaw

I bought these when my son was a month old to keep his head straight while in the car seat to help with an issue with his neck muscles. It worked until his head grew large enough that we had to spread the Velcro. When we did that he started getting an irritation on the back of his head. I saved them for when he is older. he is now 8 month old and I can not find the proper configuration for them to be comfortable.Customer Review: Nice Concept, Not Used

My wife and I liked the idea of the head support to keep my son's head from slumping forward in an awkward position when sleeping in his car seat. The supports are ease to install, but our son did not like them we think because his head was locked into position - that along with the seat locking his body in place must make for snug ride.
In the end, we reclined his seat just a bit which did the trick.
