Baby Products Reviews of Kidco PeaPod Plus Indoor/Outdoor Travel Bed, RedCustomer Review: A traveler's saving grace Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this bed for a trip to Hawaii, and it worked perfectly. My daughter has outgrown a pack-and-play, but I didn't want to hassle with trying to get her to sleep in a big bed without bedrails etc... This tent was the perfect answer. It pops up without any trouble, the inflatable mattress was perfect (I used a crib sheet to cover it to make it a little more cozy), and having screen covers (only on the "plus" model), kept her from seeing us moving about the room and getting restless. It was also small enough to fit into my (big) suitcase (a huge plus, since airlines are charging so much for extra luggage). We travel a lot, and this bed is going to be getting a lot of use. It was also super easy to pack up, since you just fold it and rotate to create a nice little circle. It works very much like the kidco pop-up play tents, and doesn't require stakes or poles or anything else annoying. For anyone looking for a post pack-and-play solution, this is great.
Customer Review: I love this thing! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the peapod plus last December while traveling during the holidays to see relatives out of state for our [then] 9 month old baby. It turned out to be worth it's weight in gold! We still use it for visiting relatives, but we also use it so we can go to dinner at friends' houses [and not have to leave once he starts rubbing his eyes.] It's a nice, shady, little portable tent! People always comment what a smart product it is.
I find it to be easy to fold, extremely lightweight, and fits perfectly in the bottom of a suitcase. We don't use it with the mattress cover/sleeping bag. We just put our son's velour crib sheet over it, which makes it feel more like home. I highly recommend this to anyone! It's so much lighter and easier to use than a pack and play, so you can take your child anywhere! I think that it would make a wonderful baby shower gift.
Customer Review: good stuff!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 20 month old son. I had some worries that he was already "too old" for it. Definately not the case. He loves sleeping in it, and the best thing is that no matter how many different rooms he sleeps in over the period of a vacation, his "sleepy house" is always the same. His 4 year old cousin was also jealous of the tent, giving me hope that we will get atleast 2 more years out of it. The only bad thing is that it is much much too loud to sleep in the same room as. Every time he rolls over, he kicks the wall, and it is REALLY loud. I had read that in some other reviews and thought the reviewers must just be light sleepers, but the nylon rubbing sound is truely REALLY loud!! Anyway, I really love this product, as does my son, and I would certainly buy it again (as long as mom/dad can sleep in seperate room!!)
Customer Review: Replaces the Need for a Pack-n-Play Summary: 5 Stars
The moment we received this product, we set it up and let our three year old daughter play with it. She loved it! We originally bought this product to take with us overseas once we travel to adopt. In the meantime, our three year old daughter used it on vacation instead of lugging the large and heavy pack-n-play. She even enjoyed playing quietly inside once she woke up in the morning. It has everything you need to make it comfortable for your child: a sleeping bag, inflatable mattress with pump, block out shades and screens for visibility all in a light weight tote. We purchased the PeaPod Plus Travel Bed because a friend's one year old son was already outgrowing the smaller PeaPod. We highly recommend this product and hope that our two children will get lots of use out this ingenious product.
Customer Review: Loved It... Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for a trip to Grandpa's house. My 2 yr old son LOVED it!! He actually asked to go to bed and would crawl in all by himself; something he never does. I took the advice of other users and used a crib sheet over the air mattress and used a twist tie to keep the zipper shut. For those that complain I think their expectations are too high. This is a TENT, it will make some noise when you move around inside. For those that can't refold it, if my mil can figure it out then I think pretty much anybody can. The picture instructions were very easy to follow and say you may have to "reshape" the tent now and then to prevent sagging. This was so much easier than lugging around a heavy pacnplay and he'll be able to use it for a few years before he gets to tall.
