Customer Review: Wish this worked for my infant, but it didn't...

I had high hopes for this peapod tent after reading so many glowing reviews, but when I tried it out with my seven-month-old daughter, it was a disaster. She just couldn't settle down and go to sleep in it. First, there was no way to put a sheet on the floor of the tent, or even a blanket, without it being a suffocation risk (with any movement, it would just bunch up). She was obviously too young to use the sleeping bag that came with it. So she had to lie down right against the plastic floor, which I didn't like (but could have tolerated, if she had slept soundly). She couldn't stay asleep, however; kept waking, because with every movement the plastic made a screechy sound (hard to describe the sound, but it wasn't quiet). After several sleepless nights (when baby can't sleep, mama can't sleep), I gave up and went out and bought a pack 'n play (which I already had at home, so this was an "extra" one which I left at Grandma's house). Since this thing cost so much money, I'm hoping that it will become usable when my daughter is old enough to appreciate sleeping in a tent (and can actually use the sleeping bag that came with it).Customer Review: Good alternative to travel cribs

This is a compact, light, neatly designed travel tent. It pops open in a split second and takes no time to fold after a little practice (takes less than 2 minutes to figure it out). It comes with an inflatable mattress that fits right underneath the bottom of the tent to ensure decent comfort to your kid. All the windows and door have their own mosquito net. It is spacious enough that it could accommodate a child up to 4-5 year old. It also comes with a sleeping bag and a hand pump for the mattress. Everything fits in a carrying bag that is probably small enough to be allowed on a plane.
On the down side, the air mattress and pump seem a little cheap (the mattress had a hole right out of the box in mine). It's probably not a big deal since it's only for occasional use. However, I can't see myself setting the tent outside given the problem I had with the hole in the mattress. The only real drawback that I can think of with this travel tent is the price: $85. Granted it's cheaper than most travel beds/cribs out there but it is still pretty steep for a kid tent with a cheap air mattress and hand pump!
Customer Review: Great Product -- Totally SURPRISED!

We are preparing for a trip to disney land in 3 weeks with my 17 month old son so we decided to try out the peapod to help with hotel sleeping issues. Anyway, we received the peapod on Saturday morning and let him play in it. We decided to only do naps in the peapod and night time in his bed. So, we put him in it for nap that day and he slept an hour and half in it then woke up and wanted out then slept in his bed for another hour and a half (his typical nap is 3 hours). The next day for nap he slept in it for an hour and a half and woke up in it but went back to sleep for another hour or so. Then tonight I was putting him to bed we read our books got down from the rocking chair and I said "its time to go night night" and he crawled into to the peapod rather than his bed (they are both in his room right now). This is coming from a mother of an EXTREMELY picky child when it comes to sleeping - NEVER sleeps in a carseat, NEVER slept in a crib, NEVER falls asleep out and about. Plus the product is great quality, nice looking, etc. I cant wait for our trip and all my sleep anxiety is gone! Woo hoo!Customer Review: Just What We Needed

I ordered this bed after much research with a touch of hesitation, due to all of the reviews about how difficult it was to get back into the bag. After getting it home I wasted no time in getting out of the box to see how to work it. And it's WONDERFUL! I love that there's no set up, the mattress is hidden away so it can't move, and it really does all fit back into the bag! If you do it right, that is. There's an elastic strap on one side of the tent so if during the refolding part of packing you tuck that side in then you can't keep it shut. Let me tell you, if you can't keep it shut then there's no way the whole thing with stay in the bag. The pump was neat too.
I definitely would suggest letting this air out for at least a day or two before using it however since it smelled pretty strongly of plastic. It seemed like a double plus though since my daughter got to play in it and get used to it while it aired.
All in all, this is a wonderful buy and not at all difficult to handle if you read the instructions.
Customer Review: Do a test run before you travel.

This tent is a very good solution for a child who can climb out of a pack n play but isn't ready to stay put in a real bed. The frame on ours is skewed a tiny bit after just one folding, but not a huge amount. It's not tiny when folded, but is much MUCH smaller and easier than a pack n play. I unzipped the sleeping bag and used half of it as a mattress pad and put a crib sheet from home over the whole thing. This seems to be comfy for him.
Let your child try it out at home though, because the mattress and sides make noise when they roll over. I let my son play in it, which he loved, but I made the mistake of not doing at least one nap or night in it before our trip. After a long day of traveling, my son was not so pleased to find himself in an odd bed that makes rumpley sounds the first night... but the second night was much better, and his nap today was fine.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and think I should get at least a couple of good years out of it.
