Baby Products Reviews of KidCo Configure Gate

Customer Review: EXCELLENT Quality Gate/ Great for Unusual Spaces
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this gate for an unusual space in my home that no other gate would fit (our 2nd floor loft/banister that is angled and has a piece of drywall that a toddler could potentially climb on and jump over the banister.) I really wanted something sturdy and white -- KIDCO Configure gate is perfect and looks great! I used one 24' extension and was able to install this very easily (instructions are terrific -- they have both written and visual instructions). Gate is very sturdy and can adjust in 10 degree increments, so it doesn't take up much room and is not an eyesore. I am pregnant and have a toddler running around and I was still able to install it with ease. I have included pictures of the gate in use. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! BEST GATE!

Customer Review: really happy with this gate
Summary: 5 Stars

this gate makes my life so much easier than a traditional gate at the bottom of the stairs would have been. i did not want to struggle with opening a gate while i was on the bottom step going down, or struggle opening a gate with a baby in my arm or laundry etc when i was on the way up. its so much nicer to have a little 'landing' at the bottom of the stairs to readjust/compose myself before opening the baby gate (also a big help if you have dogs that tend to bum-rush you when you enter/exit a room). The wall mounting hardware is not fixed, so you can avoid floor mouldings, find studs in the wall, etc. This gate can be used in a linear configuration, C-Shape or S-Shape, depending on where you need to put it. more money, but worth it

Customer Review: Ouch!! Don't trip over the floor bar!
Summary: 3 Stars

We have a wide opening between our living and dining rooms. It certainly keeps our one and two year old children out of the dining/kitchen area. The problem I've had is that there is a one inch square bar that you step over when you open the swing gate. I was carring my little daughter into the dining area from the living area and my foot cought the bar. We went flying fortunately I was able to push away from the table so my daughter didn't get rammed into the table. I ,however, injured my knee badly and have to have surgery to repair my muniscus and I have a torn pcl that surgery isn't an option for. BE CAREFUL if you decide to go ahead with it. Tell guest in your home to also watch their step. People are too sue happy today.

Customer Review: GREAT INVESTMENT- safe, attractive, easy to install
Summary: 5 Stars

We have a wide staircase and have tried every gate that you can imagine. Our baby is 14 months old and has managed to knock or climb over every single one.....execpt the Kidco Configure Gate. I was a bit hesitant spending so much money but it is the best investment we have made. Our baby cannot climb, bite, open or, most importantly, get hurt on this gate. It is high enough that tall people can open with ease (one handed) and best of all EASY to install! It took me about 20 mins to have this gate set up. Great investment, SAFE for children or pets, and attractive for your home! (Don't be fooled by other gates they are difficult to put together and you must buy extra parts to make them fit the odd space you have in mind)

Customer Review: Spendy, but worth it.
Summary: 5 Stars

Previously, we were using a wide gate from Evenflow to block the 64" entry into our kitchen from our mudroom. The Evenflow gate had a plastic block that served to stabilize the pivot point at which the gate opened. It had cheesey rubber feet on the bottom that never actually kept the thing from sliding, so we changed to this gate.

Wow. Unbelievably solid. It was expensive, but I'm glad we changed to this one.

My only 2 quibbles with this are the fact that it's only adjustable to a point (some gates have a slide & screw method to make an exact fit) and you cannot mount the entry gate at an end - it MUST be in the middle, or if you get extenders, just not at one of the ends.
