Customer Review: Great for bottom of stairs

We've been looking for a gate for the bottom of stairs. The first one we installed went straight across and attached at the stair rail on one side and the wall on the other a couple steps up. Unfortunately, there is no stud in the wall we could use. After 6 months or so, the gate came out of the wall and because of the molly screws, left a gaping hole.
The Kidco Configure Gate is great because it rests on the floor. Having a gate on the floor seems safer than having the gate a couple steps up, especially when carrying a baby, laundry basket, etc. We bought a 24 inch extension to make the configuration work better for our situation. It seems secure - able to withstand our 3-yr-old now and hopefully the baby as she goes from crawling to standing to walking.

Having 22 month old twin boys and a multi level home with stairs, decks etc... we own many gates. It's these areas that are wider than 48" that are hard to secure. We have tried several of the wide area gates.....NONE COME CLOSE to this gate on all levels. First of all, this gate has the walk through door with an incredibly easy to operate handle that is childproof. It is VERY sturdy, and EASY to install. The instructions claim that it takes a half hour.....this is absolutely the truth. Easy to read instructions, versatile installation applications, for uneven areas etc.. It is really worth it. Would also highly recommend the Hands Free Gate for areas that are 48" or less....this is a walk through gate, super strong pressure mount, installs securely in five minutes.Customer Review: Worth the money, Good for wide spaces!

My husband and I were stumpped on what gate to purchase for our wide opening between our dining area and family room. We originally bought the Evenflo Soft 'n Wide Gate, but it was too small (Which is a good gate. We found another area to use it.). We found it was difficult to find a wide gate that was attractive and easy to use. I originally was going to purchase the Evenflo wide spaces gate but after reading the reviews I got a bit discouraged. I did another search and found the Kidco Configure gate and the reviews were all stellar.We read that the setup was difficult but my husband was able to install it in less than an hour! It fit perfectly for our over 60" space! We would definitely buy another and recommend to others. It is definitely worth the money!

I researched several gates before deciding on this one. We have three dogs and foster others as well. We were using regular gates and had to continually step over them. It is so nice to have a door now to walk thru the gate instead of stepping over. The gate was easy to install (once I figured out how to bend the gate) and it's also easy to remove. The product is very nice and although I usually try to find everything at a bargain, I broke down and bought this gate because it just seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, and it was. Well worth it. Everyone who comes over says it's a very nice gate, I have recommended to others already. I am not looking to buy the kidco center gate with door for the other side of the room! I am very satisfied with this purhase.Customer Review: Great wide area gate for large dogs!

I bought this gate with the 24" extension for our new home. I wanted to be able to keep our 11 year old Golden Retriever and 3 year old Black Lab out of the carpeted areas when we were not home. We just moved in and even before we mounted the gate we set it up using boxes as braces so we could take it down easily when we were moving furniture and it worked great. We now have it mounted and I see it can still be removed easily. It has worked very well to keep the dogs off the carpets and new furniture when we are not able to supervise them. They still have a large tiled room to roam at will and respect the gate barrier.
I would recommend this gate to anyone as it is easy to install and use. My only wish is that the swing gate would be a little wider.
