Customer Review: My granddaughter gets homemade baby food , just like her mom did

In a second hand shop 33 years ago I found a baby food mill. I had a blender and had been trying to make food for my baby that I cooked myself, but it was hard to insure that all foods were lump free. This little baby food mill was the answer to my prayers.
My daughter-in-law was given a baby food mill as a shower gift over 5 years ago, so I knew the wonderful little gadget was still around and I knew I wanted my daughter to have one.
My daughter has the one I bought and her baby is getting the best baby food perfectly pureed.

This grinder is very good for restaurants, trips.... instead of buying tons of baby food jars, or cooking while you are away from home or vacation, you can use this item
it is great for fruits, and I also like to use it for rice + vegetables or rice + lentils
I dont think you can grind meat or chicken in it, but you can grind fish
it is not excellent for everyday use, it has its limitations, however, I highly recommend it. I am very happy with my purchase. And for the price, you dont have to think twice. Totally worth it

I got this as a baby shower gift and thought it seemed like a good idea since I didn't intend to buy jarred food.
It is hard to put together, very hard to take apart, and a total pain to clean. Also, it doesn't grind the food very well AT ALL. The very few times I tried to use it I got so mad that I swore I'd never use it again.
It turned out that I didn't really need to puree food for my baby anyways. Simply mashing in a bowl with a fork or cutting into very small pieces was completely sufficient.

I'm a nanny and the family I work for has an older version of it and it works great, so I went ahead and ordered one for my baby girl. I was very dissapointed when I opened the box and found that the "medical grade stainless steel blade" has been replaced by the manufacturer for a cheap plastic one. The box it came in still says that it comes with the stainless steel one though, even the picture on Amazon shows it, I find this misleading. It's really frustrating to find that what you end up getting is not what was advertised.Customer Review: Hate it!

I was excited to try this after receiving it as a shower gift. I remember watching my mom use this kind of grinder over ten years ago for my brother. When I finally tried this product, I was very disappointed. The blade isn't sharp at all, and it is very difficult for any food to come through the plastic grate. I end up just squeezing the life out of the food. Even macaroni and cheese had a hard time. I don't know why this has so many good reviews. Maybe those people have the version with the metal grate that actually works.
