So I highly recommend the kidco lock set and of course this is the key that goes with it. We purchased it seperate because we already have several sets of the multple locks throughout the house and the additional lock sets don't come with keys (lame, I know). But I am super impressed with these locks. We love how they have a a sticky back so we don't have to drill wholes into the cupboards, big bonus because our current home is a rental. However when we move these expensive little locks are coming with. The key is nice because the protective plastic layer keeps the magnet from scratching up the fridge or any other spot you might want to keep it (eg. the mirror in the bathroom). I had a plain old magnet upstairs to try to save money and it scratched up the lining on the light frame that it was placed on. The four is mainly because the thing really should come with the four lock set, but oh well. Don't go cheap get the lock and save yourself scratched framework.Customer Review: These don't work on all cabinetry!

Just a warning for shoppers: these locks don't work on all drawers and cabinets. I purchased them based on the reviews and my very capable husband had a difficult time with the 'angles' at which the locks needed to be installed in our cabinets. We also have two drawers where the lock seems to be properly installed and the latching mechanism will not latch without pushing down hard on the spot where the lock is located. Just a pain. I find it ridiculous that one has to read the reviews to know to buy the key separately....and if you install a lock in a different part of the house you need to get back online and order another key or spend time looking for the 'one' key shared by the family. Just be prepared not to be dazzled! Order a couple backup locks...those junky slide locks saved the day.Customer Review: READ CAREFULLY

This is only the key NOT the lock!!! This can not be used as a stand alone product. In order to use the key you must already have purchased the locks. Make a sure you read carefully. I found the descriptions confusing!!
I gave this particular product two stars, because the key and key holder set is unnecessary. I suggest buying the starter set, to determine if the locks work for you and then you can order more locks. This lock key and holder is only if you want an extra key.
On a side note, I did go back and order the locks (the package of four, which doesn't come with a key) and I love the concept! It works wonderfully, was easy to install and required no drilling! My husband was also very impressed.

After much investigating, I decided on this key and the locks that go with it. I really like these. They are fairly easy to install. They are also strong enough to resist a baby like mine who is yanking on them. You can turn the lock off by simply sliding the tab on it, for when the baby is asleep or not around and you're trying to get things done. As an additional plus, your cabinets don't all look baby proofed, you can't even tell from the outside and once you are done with them, they come off without leaving any marks (you can put the optional screws in like I did on some but really don't need them as the adhesive is strong enough).Customer Review: Does not work

This is just the key for the locks but the system does not work well. Our first attempt with swinging doors required them to be closed with enough force (but not too much) for the latch to catch. This would require way too loud bangs than what we are used to and wish. Most of the times the door would remain unlocked.
We then tried using this on drawers and the same thing happened. The tolerances are too small for it to be easily installed. The latch moves on gravity and so it is to weak to catch and stay put. We abandoned this product and whilst the sticky portion is ruined, we will try to get a refund.
