Customer Review: Easy to use and works great.

I bought and installed three of these latches about six years ago. Two of them are still going strong. The third fell off, but it lasted a few years before falling off, and it wouldn't have been difficult to reinstall.
They come with screws or adhesive. I chose to mount with adhesive. The main thing to remember about any adhesive mount is to use a clean surface and let it cure for 24 hours, which means do not use it right away.
My toddler son was into opening every single drawer and cabinet in the kitchen and he did not open the ones these were on. They do open a little, but the latch catches them. If you have small bottles or things that little hands can reach in and grab and pull out, you'll need a different latch. The latches are easy to unlatch. The secret is to never let the kids see how you open the cabinets.
Neither of my kids ever successfully opened the cabinets these were installed on. At this point, they are much older and they have no interest in opening the cabinets, but they have never gotten in; and your guests will intuitively know how to open the drawers, unlike other locks like the Tot-lock.
For very high risk drawers (for example, drawers that contain knives), I recommend Tot-lock. For ones you want to keep closed because the kids keep opening them and making a mess, these are perfectly fine.

These locks have worked great for my 16 month old son so far and it's been about 4 months. I was a bit worried having read some of the reviews, but after having bought these locks, I'm rather surprised by some of the negative responses. First of all, the instructions are very simple and straight forward and unlike some other locks I've tried, these work on cabinet doors and drawers regardless of having a "lip" or not. There is a pack of screws included, but if you're like me and only wanted to use the adhesive, you can just throw those in a drawer and forget about them. Second, there is some trial and error when positioning the locks (thus the 4 star rating) especially on cabinet doors, but when properly positioned, the locks have been quite secure. In other words, my son isn't able to tug on a drawer to the point where he can open the lock (or at least he gives up before it has yet become an issue). My wife and I have tried numerous adhesive and over-the-handle type locks and this, so far, has worked much easier than other makes and models, not to mention it allows adults to get into the cabinet more easily as well. Hope this review is helpful to those thrown off by this lock's mediocre rating.Customer Review: Life savers for frameless cabinettry

I have not been able to find any other cabinets locks for our kitchen cabinetry. I had already been leaning toward getting adhesive ones so we wouldn't have to drill into our nice cabinets, but the decision was confirmed when we tried to even see if one of the other drill-in style locks we had would work. No such luck. We needed something that was longer, and these fit perfectly. My husband has installed 6 of them so far and they have been just perfect. Enough room that we aren't pinching our fingers trying to activate the mechanism to open it, but small enough that our 18 month old is thwarted. And I think the adhesive is amazingly strong. Because so there were so many complaints on here about the adhesive not working, I did try yanking it very hard just to see if it would break loose, and it stayed solid. There are also screws included, so if the adhesive for some reason fails (which it seems nowhere near possible on any of the ones we have already installed).
Regardless, whether they are used with the adhesive or not, these are the only cabinet locks with the length needed that could ever have worked on our frameless cabinetry. We are VERY happy with them!!

i was very excited to finally get some adhesive locks for my kitchen, but was pretty dissapointed. they have come unstuck more than once, and they have a very wide gap for you to reach in to "unlock" them. my 2 yr old can reach his whole hand in and push down on the lock to open the cabinet. and he isn't squeezing his hand in there, it's roomy. from now on i'm just going to buy the adhesive and the regular screw in ones and do it myself, that's all that was in the pack. it even came with the screws (and the screw holes). the only thing it came with that wasn't normal to any cabinet/drawer lock was the little piece of adhesive that was just kind of thrown into the packaging, that you could buy on your own, and it would probably work better. so for how much they were, save your money.Customer Review: Works Well

We installed ours about 2 months ago, and the glue has held on wonderfully!! MUCH easier to install than the ones we used in our other house that required drilling into our cabinets. No holes with these-the next test will be (in a few years) when we try to remove them.
The ONLY thing I'm not happy with is that the cabinet doors open about 1 1/2 inches. Our daughter can reach her arm into the cabinet. Though the directions state they are for doors as well as drawers, I think they are best suited for drawers. Get a different type for cabinets doors.
We used tot locks in our last house. They were a pain to install, but once istalled, their performance was outstanding.
