Customer Review: Not quite what I expected...

This cover was not quite what I expected. Most things I have purchased that are organic cotton are noticably more soft than their non-organic counterparts. Not so with the Kee-Ka Organic Bumper cover. The fabric was a bit stiff.
The best part about this cover is the pattern. I found the monkey pattern a bit weird at first, but our daughter seemed memorized by it...and still is after several months (although she doesn't sleep in her crib all that much, she sleeps in her arm's reach cocoon).
My main concern with this cover is that the ties do NOT line up with the corners of the crib. I have a standard size crib. I think whoever made these covers just tried to put these ties evenly apart, but never considered where they would need to be in the crib.
I have had to use some creative tying to make this thing tight enough to be considered safe. Even still, after a few good kicks the bumper sags in a few spots. This is a quick fix by sewing a few extra ties, but who has the time for that?
I notice in one of the photos that someone has wrapped the bumper between some of the rungs of the crib. This is a smart idea and I am going to try this to tighten up the bumper. (This however defeats the purpose of the bumper, but maybe in the corners of the crib this will work...)
As our daughter doesn't sleep often in her crib yet, I was most concerned about her playing in the crib. She sits upright and falls over a lot. The bumper pad was a definite necessity. A quick laugh over a tumble is a lot easier as a mom than a few minutes of crying :).
