Baby Products Reviews of Kaboost Portable Chair Booster, Chocolate

Customer Review: My 2 year-old daughter and I LOVE it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to add my two cents.

We have been struggling with our Eddie Bauer Highchair since my daughter started using it. I absolutely hated it--it was an unwanted, huge piece of furniture and it was increasingly difficult to get her in and out of it.

As I was ready to chuck it and invest in the pricy Stokke chair, I found out about the Kaboost. Much cheaper and wouldn't take up a whole seat at the table?! I had to get it.

Once you unfold the legs, you extend them and place your chair legs in one at a time. That was it. I got it in dark chocolate, which matches my Indonesian chairs perfectly. Looks a little space age, but a vast improvement on the ugly highchair. It stays on even when the chair is moved and actually stabilizes the chair.

My daughter says, "Mommy 'fixed' the chair so I can sit in it". The best thing about the kaboost will be the look on your child's face when they pull up to the table for the first time in their grown up chair.
Get it. Now.

Customer Review: Great idea!
Summary: 5 Stars

I like the Kaboost because I can put it under the chairs and get the little ones up to the table without having to deal with separate high chairs or booster seats in the kitchen. They blend in nicely with our decor, and usually guests don't even notice that two of the chairs at the table are taller than the others! I've used them on two different sets of chairs, and the Kaboosts adapted between the two types of legs very nicely. The back legs of our chairs are not at the same angle as the front legs, but the Kaboost still works fine. My only caution is that it does make for a bigger fall if the kids accidentally tumble, so you probably want to be sure your little one(s) are pretty stable. And it is a bigger climb to get up onto the chair, too. I've been using them since the kids were 2 years old with no trouble either way.

Customer Review: Great concept, but too fragile
Summary: 3 Stars

We have had three of these over the years and I have thrown away two of them by now.

Until they break, they are nearly perfect in concept as the kids prefer using the adult chairs and we do not have to have 3 specialty chairs consuming space in the dining room.

However, after about 1 year of daily use, the metal rod eventually breaks thru the plastic. The ends of the 4 legs as they connect to the circular centerpiece, really should be a stronger material.

Just be prepared to either be very careful in handling them or purchasing a new one every year.

Decided to get this instead: Fred Boost Booster Seat

Customer Review: Great design, but didn't work for us
Summary: 3 Stars

We have twin toddler boys who don't necessarily need to be sitting in their high chairs anymore to eat at our table. Since we'd just purchased a new dining set, I was eager to retire their high chairs ... not to mention that TWO high chairs take up A LOT of room! So I found Kaboost and got REALLY excited about the design --- and I ordered two in Chocolate. I figured I'd raise two of our new dining chairs and leave them, until the boys didn't need to be boosted anymore. As it turned out, Kaboost raised our chairs a teensy too much (even on the lower setting). My kids' legs didn't fit between the seat of their chair and the wood skirt on the underside of the tabletop.

We've had to go back to using the high chairs at the table.

Customer Review: Great for island/countertop height seating
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this for my daughter's highchair. She is 1 1/2 now and doesn't like to use the tray, she would rather be pushed up to the table with us. However, we replaced our table with a countertop-height island that we sit around with stools. She likes to sit on the stools but they are not the safest for her, but her highchair was too low to sit comfortably at the island. Instead of buying a whole new chair or tall highchair (which I couldn't find anyway), I got the Kaboost. The tall height side is just right for our island. The highchair seems completely stable in the Kaboost, and was easy to install. I like that when you lift the chair, the Kaboost stays on the chair. I only wish I had found it sooner!
