Customer Review: Not the seat for us!
Summary: 1 Stars

First of all, I don't write reviews for many things, but I felt I should warn other parents about this seat!! I got this in the mail last week and I was so excited to try it out with my 6 1/2 month old son. My first complaint, is the usual, the suction was awful!! Granted, I have a textured bath tub, but it is not a non-stick, so the suction still should have worked well. I tried it dry, wet, damp, not matter what, it would stick for a minute then be completely loose again. With my son sitting in it, it would stay down, but not suction, and if he leaned forward at all, the whole seat would proceed to flip over if I wasn't holding on to it. Second, the T-bar in the middle is really skinny and thin, which is good because you can reach under there and clean your baby, but on the other hand, my "floating" baby would float forward and ram his private's right into it. This didn't seem to bother him much, but he was so happy to be sitting upright in the bath and playing with his toys, I don't think he noticed much. And lastly, my biggest problem with this seat is the stupid little toys attached to it in the front. These toys do absolutely nothing and my son didn't even look at them! They are pointy and sharp and scratch and push into the baby's chest as they lean over the front. The few times I put my son in it, he would come out with his chest bright red each time. I guess overall, it serves its purpose, but I feel like I spend more time trying to make sure the seat doesn't flip over and my son isn't getting injured somehow! Regardless, I am sending this seat back tomorrow and ordering something different!!

Customer Review: Good product
Summary: 3 Stars

We purchased this bath ring since my son has outgrown his infant bath tub. The bath ring seems to be very well made, simple (which I like for the tub), and has plenty of space around your baby to be able to clean them easily. I would have given it a higher rating BUT ...

Somewhere on one of the product descriptions for this bath ring (can't find it now), the description stated that babies who can sit up "assisted" can use this bath ring, however, your baby needs to be able to sit up and balance well on their own. My son gets very excited during bath time and he slides all over in this chair as he's really just learning to sit up. There is a slight non-skid texture in the seat but it doesn't really help him at this point.

Also, reviews from other consumers are correct that you either need a tub that doesn't have a non-skid surface or a tub with very light non-skid (like ours) in order for this chair to secure to your tub. Even on our light non-skid, I make sure that 2 of the suction cups are on the area around the edge with no texture and it seems to help it secure better.

Regardless, the bath seat is put away for now, but we definitely plan on using it as soon as he is better able.

Customer Review: Not for active children
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this seat when my little monkey kept crawling out of the infant tub. Then, when it arrived, the package insert said "do not use this product once child can pull up to standing." I'm unclear when you would need to use this product then... If your child is not able to sit up, this product wouldn't be able to hold them up and you would have to use an infant tub. If your child is sitting but not pulling up, then bathing them is probably pretty easy. I have friends who use this if their child is pulling up/walking etc but not overly active and it works for them. If you have a very active child and have a hard time getting them to sit still, this is not a product that will help with that and is actually dangerous to use in that scenario. I have only tried to use this once, but I will keep it for possible future children who may be less like a little monkey :-)

Customer Review: Should have checked reviews...
Summary: 1 Stars

This is one of the rare times that I write reviews here.

This time I knew item was not sold by Amazon itself but unfortunately for me I didn't read review and as I do most of the time.
This item arrived with scratches and in what appears to be a wet box. I purchased this item as a present for my friend and obviously can't give it in such condition. Only at this point I read reviews and learned it is available at BedBath for 29.99
That's one I didn't expect to see on Amazon - price to be twice the retail price.
Very unhappy. Still would return and purchase at BedBad, because even with nonrefundable shipment, 10% restocking fee (for a scratch item) comes out less than just having this item replaced.

Read reviews before buying.

Customer Review: Works great, but not for a texture-bottomed tub
Summary: 4 Stars

This product works great to keep baby from slipping in the tub. It was hard to find, as it appears many stores don't sell this item anymore. I had one 13 years ago with my first baby and loved it. The only thing is that it will not stick in a tub that has any kind of non-slip texture (due to the suction cups not being able to hold). Baby's weight keeps it secure while there's water in the tub, but if she lunges after the water level has gone down, the whole thing tips over. Not good if you're not paying absolute attention (which parents should be anyway while their baby is in the tub).
It is easy to get baby in and out (my baby is 25 pounds, with chubby legs) and the little toys in front occupy her enough to get the bath done without her getting bored.
