The plastic is thick, shiny, and clear, with a neat hem sewn with white thread. There is a small white tag reading "Jeep" that we could trim off easily if we wanted to, and no cartoony graphics. It's exactly the right size -- big enough that it extends as much as a foot and a half all the way around my son's chair (we use a booster strapped to a regular dining chair), catching everything he drops without taking up more space than it needs to. It cleans very easily. Part of our mat is under the table, held in place by two table legs, and the plastic is stiff enough that it doesn't budge or get bunched up. My 13-month-old gets a kick out of playing on top of it, but it has never slipped underneath him.
We haven't had it long, but the plastic is so thick that I see no reason why it won't be the only spill mat we need for a very long time. This is an excellent value. It's exactly what we need. I wish we'd purchased it sooner -- we try to avoid unnecessary baby items, but at this price, this mat is a no-brainer.
