Baby Products Reviews of Inclined to SleepCustomer Review: Did not find it useful Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this product a week or so after bringing my newborn daughter home from the hospital. I am a first-time mom and was really anxious to do everything by the book. Perhaps other babies do better with this thing, but my daughter had a will and mind of her own since day 1, and she absolutely hated being constrained in any way. She did not like being swaddled, and would always try to free her arms and legs. It was frustrating. My advise to new moms would be: don't put this item on your baby registry or your wish list before your baby is born. Wait and see how he/she does with swaddling. Also, it is important to remember, tiny babies CANNOT turn and so naturally will sleep only on their backs. My daughter started turning freely on her own only when she was about 4.5 months, and at that point I let her sleep however she felt was comfortable for her. Now she is 7 months and sleeps primarily on her tummy.
Customer Review: These Are NOT safe Summary: 1 Stars
I asked my public health nurse about this before I put my baby to sleep with it and she said that there have been problems with these items. The SIDS alliance tells new moms that there is to be nothing in the crib with the baby AT ALL, no blankets, stuffed animals, nothing. These have pillows that have BEEN KNOWN to become detached and create suffocation hazards. The industry loves new moms because they can market so much useless (and in this case dangerous) crap using the fear tactic and make oh so much money doing it. Don't buy into it.
My nurse has been at this for a very long time and works closely with the SIDS alliance and told me that there is no reason for a healthy baby to use one of these but one big reason not to, IT CAN KILL YOUR CHILD. Just a word of advise from a concerned mom. Now that I know, I wouldn't use one and would recommend that no one else does either.
Customer Review: Used this in bassinet only Summary: 5 Stars
I was so happy when my husband came home with this which served double duty as an incline ramp and a sleep positioner. I didn't have any trouble with my son wiggling off and wonder if it helped that I used a sheet saver between the product and the foam barriers which could have prevented him from sliding down. Using the sheet saver was also a good way to prevent having to wash the item often as it is hard to get the foam back perfectly in the case. I suppose you could put the whole thing in the wash but I didn't. I was able to use this product for months but only used it in the bassinet so there wouldn't be much space to the sides of the positioner. Once the baby moves around in his sleep, it definitely isn't good to have space next to the ramp (like in the crib) because he can fall off the side and it will wake him up. I recommend this product highly from my own experience.
Customer Review: Made me feel safer co-sleeping with baby Summary: 5 Stars
Our 3 month old baby is a "Velcro" baby - won't sleep in her bassinet, has to be held almost all the time. Out of necessity we started co-sleeping, but her father and I were nervous about it (her rolling off the bed, us rolling over on her.) I went out and bought this when she was a few weeks old, and it's really worked. We can put her in it between us at night and not worry, and the sides must make her think she's being held because she goes to sleep in it very easily most nights. Also, the incline is useful since she has a little bit of reflux and it helps her be less spitty. I also have a theory (not yet tested because she still feeds every 2 hours at night) that she'll transition to the crib easier since she's used to sleeping in it, and can continue to do so if we move it with her into the crib. The [money] was definitely worth it for the time we have used it thus far.
Customer Review: Saved my Sanity! Summary: 5 Stars
This product was my savior for the first few weeks. Being a single mother was hard enough, add on the constant crying and you had complete chaos. That was until I introduced my little girl to the sleeper. She loved it! I would swaddle her in a receiving blanket and place her on the sleeper and she immediately calmed down. The foam actually molded to her body! Everywhere it went she was content: her crib, her bouncer, a bed and even the couch. When she was in the sleeper I felt confident in her safety and security. Cleaning it was also a breeze. All I had to do was remove the covering and throw it in the wash with her clothing. If you are looking for something that will make things a little easier in the beginning than you should definitely invest in this product! I have nothing negative to say about this prroduct except that I wish I could get a whole crib matress like it.
