This diaper cover is awesome! I love how the exterior is made of 100% cotton, and the interior is waterproof (made of polyester). If you use a standard cotton prefold diaper, your baby's skin should only be in contact with natural cotton material. Nice to know if synthetic materials (like polyester, rayon, nylon, etc.) are a concern of yours. However, the truth, I've discovered ... (after using G-diapers with their polyester/hemp and cotton cloth inserts) is that polyester really does wick away moisture from touching your baby's bottom, and cotton (/hemp) absorbs and holds moisture well. So your baby is more likely to through a fit when he has soaked cotton against his bottom rather than he would with a fluffy polyester material against his skin and the absorbent cotton (/hemp) material underneath to absorb the wetness.
Anyway, my personal favorite diaper method is cotton prefolds and this diaper cover. You must change often, but that is expected with all cloth diapers. After he wets, place the prefold diaper out to dry along the side of his hamper, or if it is soiled, rinse the prefold diaper out in the sink and place it in your water-filled diaper pail. All you have to do with this diaper cover is to lay it over your baby's crib rail to dry. Then simply place another diaper cover (like this one) and prefold diaper on him; don't forget the Snappy's, unless you are able to keep your baby from kicking off his diaper before you get his diaper cover on.
Overall, it has been great! I also use Huggies Pure and Natural disposable diapers with this cover at night and when we go out and about. It works out perfectly, and the designs on these covers are so cute; my favorites are the farm and jungle patterns ... the white cover is kind of plain looking to me now, but still serves its purpose. Don't forget to attach the velcro on this diaper cover (or anything with velcro for that matter) to keep it from attaching to something else when you wash and dry it. :-)
