I'm not sure why the other reviewers had such a disappointing experience but I used my sling exclusively as a carrier for my now 2 year old daughter and just purchased another for our new baby to be born soon. Correct sizing is definitely important. I'd recommend trying one on in the store before purchasing - the sling should hit at your hip with nothing inside. It's also important to make sure that the baby is properly sitting in the sling which keeps them in a secure, fetal like position. The sling is super easy to take on and off once you get the hang of it and folds small enough to easily store in a purse rather than the bulkier versions. I used it with my daughter up until she was about 25 pounds and only stopped because my pregnant belly is getting in the way. She has always hated the shopping cart and it's so much easier to have her secure on my hip than running around the store. I also have 2 free hands and her weight is evenly displaced rather than hurting my back. The cotton versions are lightweight enough for our Arizona summers and never showed signs of wear even after being washed many times. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
