Customer Review: Great value for a useful piece
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this Moses Basket on a bit of an impulse the first day I spent alone with my newborn, realizing quickly that I needed a safe place to put the baby down when I needed to make lunch or get water or go to the bathroom, and this has been exactly that.

For the price, this basket is a great piece of baby gear. I wasn't expecting a super high quality piece (and it isn't, but I've had no fabric tears or loose ribbons yet), but have been very pleased with it, and especially knowing that it can only be used for a few months, I would recommend this lower cost basket to anyone considering a Moses basket purchase. Also, the sheet included serves the purpose, but I found a receiving blanket wrapped snug around the mattress fit beautifully and is much cozier.

**Update: Five months of daily usage and this basket is showing lots of wear - the raffia (or whatever the material is that is wrapped around the rows) is unravelling, breaking off, and loose in several spots, the basket itself split on the upper two rows at the foot, and the sides are sagging. Despite this wear, we still say this was the best baby item we've purchased (for the price + usage) and I'd still recommend it!

Customer Review: Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this basket for our new baby girl. We have been using it for 5 weeks and I love it! I would definitely buy it again. This is a nice item for the price.

Here are the pros and cons of this basket -

Pros:
- Light and easy to carry up and down the stairs.
- It takes up very little room, I set it on a cedar chest next to the bed.
- I didn't have a problem when I washed the liner and sheet in the machine. Maybe using a delicate/handwash cycle would help.
- The sheets we used in a regular bassinet fit in this just fine.
- The pad is quite thick.

Cons:
- The handles are twisted. I think this was due to the way it was packaged for shipping. It does not affect the usability.
- The ribbon that holds the liner in place has come off several times, including in the wash. It does not appear to be attached with much thread. I just reattached them with more/thicker thread.
- The liner around the head of the basket sags into the basket and gets in my daughter's face. Adding two ribbons at the top to attach it to the basket would fix this.

Customer Review: Good product for the price

My mom purchased this basket for our son, Declan (now 17 months) before he was born. He slept comfortably in it for the first few months of his life, and I was able to transport him from room to room with no fuss. I would even put him and the basket in his pack & play at night. I would have used it for longer, but he grew too tall for it after about 4 months. Now he likes to climb in and play inside of it (we keep his teddy bear collection in it). The liner and ribbons did come apart - I had to do some sewing - and the basket itself unraveled somewhat, but it took a lot of use and abuse to get to that point. There are so many different bassinet-type products out there, and after reading reviews of other products, my mom is getting us another one for our next baby boy due in March 2011. This time we're getting a stand for it just in case Declan thinks his little brother is a teddy bear. :) Overall, I think you'll get your money's worth and then some from this basket.

Customer Review: Not a great sleeping option
Summary: 1 Stars

The basket is cheap, granted! but not worth it.
- Cheap looking.
- Linen provided is similarly cheap and fell apart after a couple of washes.(and you always need to wash it)

The basket looked pretty nice and cute on the picture but the velcro around the top to attach the canopy shows a lot and is very ugly! Might be good to present gifts at a baby shower but not very appropriate for your baby to sleep in.

Overall, the basket option (instead of a bassinett) sounded like a great way to save money... Well, I'm not fully satisfied.

We ended up putting the basket in our stroller set at a flat position so we could roll it around the house without carrying the heavy load of a 9 lb baby and the basket. Baby stay well asleep and parents stay happy :)

My piece of advice: look for another basket, sturdier, better looking and for which you could get spare and good quality sheets!

Customer Review: Great For Us!!

This moses basket is a "godsend." I wish they had these when my children were babies so I could have used it. I got this for a gift for my best friends second child. It is fantastic, the baby can sleep in it where ever mom is. It's easy to take in the car and the baby has her "own" bed no matter where you are. Plus it can be moved easily while baby is sleeping without them waking. A bassinette or portable crib is to much to move around if baby is sleeping, and when you take them with you while traveling they are bigger and harder to carry plus the baby is comfortable sleeping in the moses basket no matter where you are, because it's not something new to her, she is used to sleeping in it. A super gift.
