Baby Products Reviews of Hippo Hookon High Chair - NatureCustomer Review: Perfect seat for small spaces.... Summary: 5 Stars
We live in a small condo and did not want to invest in a bulky highchair that took up space. When I used to teach in day cares we always used hook-on seats to feed the children so I looked for one that would be versitile and sturdy. The Hippo Hook-On by chicco is perfect. My husband is an engineer and felt that it was structurally sound. I like that it fits on almost ANY table (even ones with a lip) and that you can take it to resturants or when visiting relatives. We don't bother with folding it into the bag but just collapse it and carry it by the handles when we take it places. The only draw-back is that it is not as easy to clean as a highchair, but the seat is washable. Oh, and purchasing a vinyl drop-cloth to put underneath is a good buy with this seat (or any feeding chair for that matter).
Customer Review: Chicco Customer Service is the BEST! Summary: 5 Stars
I have written in the past about the Hippo Chair (STILL love it) but I wanted to just say that in dealing with the Chicco customer service recently, I have had an excellent experience. We have the Chicco Mamma high chair and had an issue with the tray mechanism. I emailed Chicco about the problem and they called immediately and are going ABOVE and BEYOND to rectify the situation. I have read elsewhere that Chicco's customer service was questionable but in talking with Melody at Chicco, there have been a lot of changes there and they have the customer service thing down now and they are really aiming at full customer satisfaction. So if having a company back you up when you have a concern means anything to you as a consumer, Chicco is a great choice for your baby product needs. I am a believer.
Customer Review: The best portable chair ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to say that I love this chair. We bought this when my son was 7 months old so that we could travel and go out to dinner. The restaurant highchairs are so uncomfortable and I could never get my son to sit in it for longer than 5 minutes. This chair is great because its comfortable and he is able to be at the table with us. We even use it everyday at home, it's either attached to our kitchen island or the coffee table. My son loves to hang out and play while I do dishes or cook.
The only thing I have never figured out is how to fold it to get it in the carry bag. I used to take it apart, but now I just carry the chair without folding it and forget the carry bag all in all.
I would definitely buy this chair again and highly recommend it!
Customer Review: BEST PURCHASE I MADE!!! BUY ONE!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this seat!!!! My daughter grew out of her baby car seat at 3 months old, but she could not yet sit in a high chair. We bought this and put a blacket behind her so that she could not topple over. Now, she is 7 months old, and we still us it every time we go out to eat. I have not gone to a restaurant yet where I couldn't use it. I did forget it at home one time, she had to use a high chair and she hated it. She loves to sit in HER chair and kick her legs. People always stop and ask us where we got it. The only thing that I think needs to be changed is the way that it folds. It comes with a carrying case, but we never use it, it's pretty difficult to fold and put in it. Every baby my daughters age has one and all of the kids love it!!!
Customer Review: twins mom Summary: 4 Stars
Our 9 month old girls do well in these seats. They like to be at the table with us and it seems comfortable. They hate restaurant highchairs (hard wood, no support). These allow so much more room at tables than using restaurant highchairs, very important for 2 babies at a table. We can sit in booths now, fits on park benches, great for going to other people's houses - we can actually live life! It's so nice not having to figure out how to feed them when we get somewhere and whether highchairs will be available, especially ones with belts that actually work (plus yucky germs). It's not worth taking apart each time, so we leave it put together and just carry it in restaurants. It would take too much time to put together and take apart.
