Baby Products Reviews of HALO SleepSack 100% Cotton Wearable Blanket, Baby Yellow, MediumCustomer Review: BUY A LARGER SIZE THAN YOU NEED Summary: 3 Stars
I love these sleep sacks and have used the fleece ones all winter. Now that it's summer, I bought a cotton one. I washed it and dried it according to label and it came out looking very small. It fit very small, too, compared to the same size fleece. I thought I got one that was mis-tagged (a small with a medium label) so called and got a replacement shipped to me. While waiting for it, I bought two more medium cotton ones at BRU and when I brought them home they were over 5 inches longer than my 'mislabeled' one -- the same size as my medium fleece ones. And then I washed them and dried them. And now they're all the same small size. Those things shrank 5 INCHES in one wash/dry cycle -- done according to the label. I cannot believe it. The medium cottons are essentially the same size now as the small fleeces. My fleece ones NEVER shrunk like this.
So if you want a cotton one, I'd say buy up a size. I'm returning all of these and will buy larges. I'm pretty furious about it, but I do love these so will deal with it and buy the bigger ones.
Customer Review: A safe alternative to blankets Summary: 5 Stars
With SIDS to worry about, I really do sleep more soundly at night knowing that my baby is warm but not at risk of being smothered by a loose blanket. The bottom-to-top zipper really is convenient for diaper changes, and while the sleepsack did shrink somewhat in the wash, that really hasn't affected its fit on our baby. We went from a fleece sleepsack (infant size) to a cotton one (medium) when the weather started getting warm. Our baby is big (14 lbs and 25 inches at 12 weeks), so we got a medium (one size larger than recommended) hoping it would fit all summer. We shouldn't have worried. The sizes are very generous, but even a very big sleepsack works - there's enough room to grow into without being loose enough at the arm- or neckholes to cause tangling or a smothering hazard. It's perfect for summer nights that are just cool enough that we want to be sure that the baby's feet and legs stay covered, even if her nightgown rides up. Overall, I wouldn't trade the sleepsack for a regular blanket, and I highly recommend it to all parents of infants.
Customer Review: THIS IS THE ONE THING WE COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT! Summary: 5 Stars
We were given a Halo SleepSack as a gift and I had never heard of them before. We started using it when our son was a few months old and used them every single night since and for every nap too. We went through every size and then when he outgrew the XL we were very happy to see that they made them for toddlers as well. The toddler sizes have holes in the bottom so they can walk while wearing the SleepSack. Our son was a very active sleeper and would never have kept blankets on even when it was safe to use them so the SleepSack was a great solution for us. Our son will be 3 in April and just moved to a big boy bed so we are no longer using the SleepSacks but they were our "must have" for almost 3 years.
Customer Review: Great, safe way to keep baby warm Summary: 5 Stars
In the warm summer months, when the temperature drops only a few degrees at night, we need something to go over our son's pajamas to keep him comfortable but not too hot. The Halo cotton sleep sack is the perfect solution. It is light-weight, breathable, and never bunches up around his face. It zips up from the bottom in case we need to do a quick diaper change and don't want to totally undress him. Sleep sacks are recommended instead of blankets to prevent SIDS, so it gives us peace of mind too. Be sure to order the right size for your baby - the sizes go by weight. They might look huge at first but your baby will grow into them (and out) faster than you think!
Customer Review: TWO THUMBS WAY UP FOR THE HALO SLEEPSACK!!! Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 3 1/2 months old and he sleeps in his Halo Sleepsack every night. When he was a newborn we would swaddle him and then he out grew the need for it. When we used the swaddler wrap is was perfect. It was also just tight enough so he couldn't slip his little hands out. I also really liked that it was so easy to clean!!! Now he is wearing a medium size Sleepsack and it is perfect. I have noticed that it also keeps him on his back because it is hard to roll over in. That is so great because he is a little wiggly worm at night. Over all this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone with a baby!
