Baby Products Reviews of Graco Ultra Clear 49MHZ Baby MonitorCustomer Review: not for us... Summary: 1 Stars
Maybe it just depends on too many factors since some people seemed to really like this monitor but it didn't work for us. I bought it after reading the great reviews on here. It's really hard to find a monitor that works for everyone. With this one, if we turned it up all the way, we could just barely hear the baby crying. The problem wasn't static or anything. We just weren't hearing much of anything. It definitely wouldn't have been loud enough to wake anybody up. I probably would have just heard her trough the house before I heard her on the monitor. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying the monitor! We went with the Graco ivibe imonitor instead. More expensive, but it works.
Customer Review: Super Baby Monitor...great value too! Summary: 5 Stars
The Graco Ultra Clear II 49mhz Baby Monitor is wonderful. We had originally purchased another monitor by a different brand (that was three times as much.) Unfortunately the feedback on that one was terrible. After reading the reviews on the Graco monitor, my husband and I decided to try it.
We are so pleased! We keep one parent unit downstairs and one in our bedroom. We have never heard static or feedback and love that even with the volume turned down that we can see if our daughter is crying (noted by the red dots on the parent unit.)
The monitor is easy to set up and worked the first time we plugged them in.
We would definitely recommend this unit to parents!
Customer Review: Less Static than Safety 1st, First Years, and Fisher Price Summary: 4 Stars
I bought three monitors before finding this one. All of the three following monitors have an unacceptable amount of static: Safety 1st Crystal Clear Monitor, First Years Two-Receiver 49MHz Monitor, and Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Monitor. The static on these three monitors was louder than my baby's crying making it useless. While the Graco is clearly better than the three listed above, there still is a very small amount of static on it. I am guessing that a digital monitor would have worked even better, but I am not willing to spend that much money on a monitor. If you are looking for an inexpensive monitor that actually works, the Graco Ultra Clear is the only choice.
Customer Review: they work just fine Summary: 4 Stars
They have a lot of static, but you don't need the volume cranked up to hear the baby - I could hear him pretty clearly whether he was crying or quietly babbling to himself.
I did pick up another monitor on one of the channels. Keep this in mind if you have neighbors with babies. Since the monitor has two channels, I just switched to the other one (and turned the monitor off after naptime so the neighbors couldn't hear my singing/TV/what have you).
They still work after a year, and I haven't really even taken very good care of them - they've been loose in suitcases, they've been yanked off of shelves and fallen on hard floors.
Customer Review: Don't think twice.. buy this one! It's a life saver Summary: 5 Stars
Quick back story.. baby was born a preemie and needed to be monitored really well for the first few weeks at home. I co slept for the first few months and then reluctantly transitioned to having the baby sleep in the nursery. I bought this hoping it would work OK but boy was I surprised.. It worked amazingly. I actually wish that I used this earlier. i could hear every breath that my baby takes! I could distinguish the difference between normal breathing and any funky noises. This monitor truly gave me peace of mind. The volume can really go up high so with practice, I'm now able to wake up whenever my little one does anything out of the ordinary.
