One thing that we LIKE is that by turning the transmitter OFF, the receivers give off significant static noise. When the transmitter is ON the receivers are very quiet. My wife and I take turns rocking our baby to sleep in his bedroom. We keep the transmitter close to the rocking chair. If we need help, we briefly turn off the transmitter which causes the recievers, located elsewhere in the house, to emit static noise. In this way, we can signal eachother without waking the baby. This has been a tremendous help for us!
I noticed that some reviewers have complained about the static noise. We have used this product every day/night for over 1 year and we have had NO significant noise problems.
We keep on of the receivers at the opposite end of the house from the transmitter (about 60 feet).

first of all, the nite light didn't work.
I am an engineer so things I buy get heavily scrutinized. The unit comes with three DC adapters, but only one fits the baby monitor. The other two are for the parental units, but will not charge a rechargable AAA battery. The battery doors are not designed to be removed easily (feels like I'm about to break the latch when it finally releases) and since the unit does not charge rechargable batteries. The baby monitor does not accept batteries, so if you want to move it you need to bring the DC adapter along with.
It's going back.
If these things are not important to you then fine, I have not tested the range further than upstairs/downstairs and then only for a very short time so I will not comment on this.

This is a great product and it works as advertised. Sound is very clear and it picks up all the sounds in the room with the monitor. I am able to get a clear signal in rooms a floor away regardless of if I am in the back or front of the house (furthest distance is 100ft from the monitor).
I am running several wireless phones (2.4 Ghz) and a wireless network which does not at all interfere with this product. There is some static on occasion but not enough to completely block out the sounds on the parent units.
Although this product is sold as a baby monitor, it also works well if you need to monitor a elderly relative. In cases where the individual is not very mobile, it makes it easier for other family members to be aware if they are calling for assistance.
Customer Review: Batteries not effective; noticeable static

We bought the Graco Ultraclear II as an inexpensive monitor with batteries that got great reviews here on amazon.com. While the monitors did work, there were 2 major drawbacks.
One is that the 4-AAA batteries only let the parent unit run off the charger for a few hours. This seems to be a defect as the batteries were not very used up when they were removed. If you want to move the parent unit from room to room, be prepared to have to move the plug (or burn through $$$ on batteries).
Two is that while you can hear what is going on in the room, we also got a lot of static on the monitor. There was much more static than our old monitor.
We ended up returning the unit to Graco without any problems. I would suggest a unit with rechargeable batteries.
Customer Review: Great monitor for multiple children

We have been using this monitor for over a year with our daughter. It is very quiet and works great. When our son was due to be born, we wanted a monitor for his room, but still wanted to keep one in our daughter's room. We looked at units designed for multiple children, but there aren't many and they aren't cheap. This monitor is reasonably priced and has 2 channels so we gave it a chance and bought another set of monitors. We are able to use a base unit in each child's room and have a parent unit for each child in our room. Each child is on a different channel and this works great for us. They don't interfere with each other at all. We also have a parent unit in the kitchen for our infant and a spare to carry around as needed. We are thrilled with this product!
