Baby Products Reviews of Graco TotBloc Pack 'N Play with Carry Bag, Bugs Quilt

Customer Review: *~*~*PERFECT for TWINS, VERY STURDY, EASY to CLEAN*~*~*
Summary: 5 Stars

When I was first looking for Playards I was becoming pretty dissapointed because all of them made it clear you could only use it with 1 baby. I was asking my Sister in law about it and she said both her kids still play in theirs and they were 2 & 5 years at the time. She said they are really rough in it at the same time and nothing is wrong with it at all. I think they just put the guidelines to be OVER safe.

Anyhow, this was the biggest one and had so many good reviews I decided to get it. I actually bought mine used and it was like new. I took Clorox Spray anywhere and cleaned the mat, the bugs & the top rails. It wiped right off & the fabric wasn't even wet, it is sort of water resistant.

I started putting both my twins in here before they could sit up on their own. I also always put extra toys in there for them which they love. I used to keep this set up in our living room but now we keep it in our van to use when we visit people. It is so easy to set up and tear down and my girls love playing in it. I think we'll be able to use this for a long time. Both my girls are 11 months old right now and can pull themselves up just enough to chew on the top rails.

So if you're looking for something to use with twins, definately buy this. It is perfectly safe to use. I would not recomment the "twin" playard. It has the double on top but your babies will outgrow it pretty fast and then you're stuck with a pretty small playard for twins.

Customer Review: Unique among pack n plays
Summary: 4 Stars

I looked at several pack and plays and ended up buying this one because it didn't try to do anything other than be a pack and play and it was brightly colored and seemed fun to be in.

We needed one for travel purposes, specifically as a bed for our infant (at the time 7 month old). This one isn't the most ideal since it is larger than most. However, we also wanted one that we could use in our apartment in the living room and as a travel bed for when we're on the road with the baby. We were not looking for a combo bassinett changing table, rocker, stroller, bouncer, babysitter, spare nursery type of playpen either.

Pros: Large, brightly colored. Fun little toys on each side. Easy to fold (dont agree with some other reviews) and comes with case. Perfect as a safe play area outside the baby's room which was our primary purpose.

Cons: Not as mobile as some others. It doesn't fit through the doorway unless you fold it up. No wheels. Bottom is too hard ( we padded it up with extra blankets and a tight sheet so it wasn't so hard). It's a little expensive but we got ours in the US (much more expensive and not available in Canada) and it was discounted too. But it does fit in the car trunk of a compact car.

Overall, we're satisfied. Would have liked to have thicker bottom or separate mattress as our child is learning to stand up thus falls alot. Good value via amazon (we paid $75 including shipping)

Customer Review: Nice playard, but...
Summary: 4 Stars

This is definitely the biggest playard I've seen. It was easy to put it together. It kind of works like an umbrella. I love the bright colors and the build in toys. The bottom pad is nice and soft and of decent thickness. However, the bottom sags in the center. I had to go to a hardware store and buy a panel of plywood to put underneath to stop the bottom from sinking in. Other than that, my 5-months old son seems to like it a lot. He even fell asleep in it the other day. I just don't know if I would want to carry this thing around, since it is quite heavy. Overall, I would definitely buy this playard again. The quality is decent, and the price is reasonable. And the bright colors really cheered up our front room. There are only two things that would make this playard even better: 1) it would be nice if it came with wheels, and 2) the bottom pad could be a little more sturdy.

Update (added on March 22, 2009):
While the bottom is no longer sagging, thanks to the plywood, the padding on top is buckling up like crazy! It's so annoying. It's almost as if there is too much fabric for the size of the bottom. There is a big hump on one side, creating a slope across the entire bottom. Other than that, my now 6 months old son still loves his playard. He reaches for the build-in toys and loves when they make noise.

Customer Review: so glad I found it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a grandma and this is the shape of playpen that was in use when my children were babies except that they were a bit larger (about 42" square play area vs the current 36" square play area). I find this shape to be less confining than the usual playpens now available that are basically the same thing as putting the baby in a bed.

Playpens weren't this cute back then, but every bit as handy. It is not only a perfectly safe and controlled area in which babies can learn to play and quietly make sense of their world, but it provides great peace of mind for parents and grandparents to be able to put the baby down in a safe place while talking on the phone or doing something that does not allow for hands-on and undivided supervision. This unit is well built, stable, portable, and easy to fold (once you get the hang of it, it's not exactly intuitive).

How could it be better? I would like the padding to be a little bit thicker, I would like the play area to be a little bit larger (so two babies could play there comfortably, like in the "old" days), and I would like a removable and washable cover to the pad instead of having to make my own.

But, this review is based on it being the best that is available now and it living up fully to the product description.

Customer Review: This is the ONE!
Summary: 5 Stars

Bright, comfortable, stable, interesting, adorable, easy to use, and BIG! What more could you want in a play yard? This is the one to buy. We were sold on the size. Our daughter had used a "traditional" (aka small) pack and play at her grandparents house as a crib initially. Once she became mobile (around 6 months) we started looking at the pack and plays - even used the grandparent's one in our home. Rachel was ok with it - but got very upset after only a few minutes - she wanted to move! We found this Tot Block on display at the store, and were thrilled with the larger size and bright colors. Initially we had to put it up and take it down daily, as we were showing our home for sale .... but after the first time or two, that became very easy - it seems even easier than the traditional pack and play. Now that it's up "full-time" our 10 month old daughter is pretty good in it - some resistance now and then, but she pretty quickly finds something fun to do (either the built in toys or the stash of toys we keep in there) or she takes a nap. We all like the bright colors too. And we were able to get a royal blue sheet directly from Graco (although we've yet to use it, as the pattern on the mattress is engaging and adorable!) This has been our BEST baby purchase to date!
