Baby Products Reviews of Graco Splat MatCustomer Review: NOT BIG ENOUGH!!!!!!!! Summary: 2 StarsAlthough this product might work if you had a really small child but with my son it is simply not big enough. It does catch alot of juice and food but so does the floor. It needs to be at least a 3X3 area and this one is just simply not big enough for my son.
Customer Review: Large in size, but somewhat thin Summary: 4 StarsThis has really saved our carpets and floors, but the material is somewhat thin and has a tendendcy to fold over and wrinkle up. This can cause a few minor tripping accidents if left that way.Overall it does what is claims, but it could be a little thicker material.
Customer Review: So so Summary: 2 StarsThe colors are nice and it wipes clean, but it's just not big enough. Most kids will miss the mat when they toss a spoon or a dish. I can use it later to protect my dining table from crayon marks when she get big enough to sit a color, so there are alternate uses.
Customer Review: Definitely a necessity when baby starts feeding him/herself Summary: 4 StarsThis splat mat is nice and large to protect your floors. My 16 month old can throw food far enough to still get the floor dirty, but in general this mat catches most of the mess (and there's a lot of THAT with a toddler learning to feed herself). The major plus for this mat is that you can toss it into the washing machine. I'm planning to buy a few extra mats so we can just throw the dirty ones into the laundry. The mat also cleans up well with a sponge. It's also thin enough to take along on trips. The minus to the mat is that if you have a highchair with wheels often the mat wrinkles up if you are trying to move or turn the chair. I wish it had more "grip" on the bottom to hold it steady. Overall a good product, and definitely worth having.
Customer Review: Good Protection Summary: 4 StarsThis item protects your floor from the activities of baby in a high chair, or when baby is playing on the floor.Obviously, if you have a ceramic tile, laminate, or vinyl floor where you will be feeding baby, this product may be unnecessary. However, if you have carpet, especially light colored, this item is essential. It is basically impermeable by liquids, and cleans easily. A few words of warning: When baby gets older, 3 feet by 4 feet may not be enough area to protect against baby's launching of unwanted food. Also, the mat is not as thick as the product description makes it sound. It will get wrinkled and creased with constant use, so its appearance may be diminished. With this type of product, that seems like a small tradeoff to me.
