Baby Products Reviews of Graco SnugRider Infant Car Seat Stroller Frame

Customer Review: economical and highly useful!
Summary: 4 Stars

We have a Graco Snugride 32 carseat. When we bought the first stroller, we bought a more expensive jogging stroller that could take the Snugride 32. It was very attractive and looked high-end. However, we found it hard to steer and the carseat didn't feel entirely secure. Friends of ours recommended the Snugrider.

The snugrider is an inexpensive purchase compared to other strollers, and can be used as long as you are using the SnugRide carseat. The carseat snaps right in just as it does into the carseat base in the car. It feels very secure! It can be used with the Snugride, Safeseat, and Snugride 32 (according to the packaging).

The SnugRide notably has a large storage compartment under the seat. You can fit a diaper bag in there, your groceries and shopping purchases, your purse. That's another advantage this stroller has over our "high end jogging stroller".

The handle can be raised or lowered according to your height, an important feature if you have a tall parent and a short parent in the same family!

It also folds up easily, stays folded up (unlike our other stroller), and is compact. It fits easily into the trunk of our subcompact. It's not heavy to carry at all - we took it onto the subway and had to fold it up and carry it downstairs.

We even found that it steered better than our more expensive stroller! However, one of the wheels looks a bit wonky - but doesn't seem to affect the ride. This stroller is ideal for sidewalks and streets, not so much for cobblestones. Going up and down curbs isn't that comfortable either. However, that would be a problem with many inexpensive strollers.

Customer Review: Love, Love, Love this Frame!
Summary: 5 Stars

We purchased this stroller frame when we were preparing to fly for the holidays with our 3 month-old and felt daunted by the idea of lugging baggage, baby, car seat, and full-sized stroller across multiple airports and through security checks. We are SO glad we bought this! It made traveling exponentially easier. It's lighter than our stroller (we had purchased a Graco travel system and we love the stroller, but it is HEAVY and clunky), easy to fold, and pretty compact. I can easily fold and lift it with one hand. Plus, because the price is so reasonable, we felt better about risking any damage it might sustain in our travels--which would have been harder to shrug off with our more expensive full-sized stroller. The basket is a good size, although it IS easier to place items inside it BEFORE you put the carseat on the frame. The cup holders are a BIT flimsy and pop off sometimes if they catch on something, but they work well enough---although I will say that you should be careful to not hit any bumps when you've got a cup of liquid in the holder because it will spill everywhere. The lightness of the stroller frame is both a positive and a drawback---it doesn't maneuver bumps/potholes well because it is so light. Once we returned from our travels, we just kept it in the trunk of our car so we could snap it open for quick jaunts to the store, running errands, etc. We have a big baby (24 hours shy of his 6 month wellness check, but we estimate he's probably at about 20 pounds and close to 30 inches) and we use the frame with the Graco Snugride 35. So far he hasn't outgrown it and we still use it regularly. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to others!

Customer Review: GREAT starter stroller frame
Summary: 5 Stars

This stroller frame was the perfect item to start out with for our infant. We were pricing out strollers and systems for the early months of our son's life, and knew that he would be outgrowing whatever we purchased within a few months and didn't want to spend a lot. A friend of mine had the SnugRide car seat and this stroller frame and couldn't say enough good things about it. I registered for the SnugRide car seat and then we bought this frame shortly afterwards. It has been a dream! Very very easy to use - you pop the car seat on top, fold in the two tabs and you're ready to go. It also folds up very easily - you can do it with one hand! It's also very lightweight and fits in the back of an SUV with plenty of room to spare.

The only downsides that I can see are the following: the frame is what it is - a frame - so it's not as sturdy or fancy as some of the more expensive stroller systems. There aren't any shock absorbers, so it's not great on rough terrain. Well cut grass is about all it can handle. The other thing is that it is rather hard to maneuver with one hand, so trying to open a door and push the stroller through the open door can be challenging.

The basket underneath is huge, so you can fit a diaper bag and a purse and whatever else. The cup holder is okay, but not very deep, so any drinks that are full are liable to fall over, even a small bottle of water.

So, for what it is, it's totally worth the purchase. My son is 3 months old and just about to outgrow his car seat, so we will be moving him to the big stroller soon, but for this price, it was one of the best purchases we made!

Customer Review: Essential Baby Item
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this infant car seat stroller. It is one of the best things I bought for my infant. It is so lightweight and durable. Great for everyday outings and airline travel (was wonderful to have for my trip to CA). I like that I don't have to disturb my infant, especially after he has fallen asleep in the car. He can continue his snooze while I take care of my errands. The storage basket is huge. Grocery clerks are always amazed at how much groceries I pull from my stroller. I had even put a 40 lb cat litter pail on the bottom and it did fine. Another feature that I liked about this stroller is the adjustable handle bar. I am 5 ft tall and it was nice to be able to have the handle bar at a level that was perfect for me. The only downfall for this stroller is that it is really not meant for tall people. My husband being 6 ft tall would constantly hit the bottom rail when he would walk. Also I used the stroller for my Chicco Keyfit carseat, which you are not suppose to, but I just made sure I was extra careful since I had no way of locking it in. Hopefully, Graco will upgrade their stroller to have some type of locking mechanism for other carseats, since I find this better than the baby trend version that is universal. I am sad that I will have to retire this stroller since my son is now 8 months, and is able to sit himself up, and pull up on the handlebar. Definitely recommend this stroller if you are looking for a lightweight stroller that is inexpensive, and if you need more time in deciding on a long term stroller. Hope this review helps. Happy strolling :).

Customer Review: Best Baby Gear Purchase EVER!
Summary: 5 Stars

As a first time parent who didn't bother to do much research on baby stuff... I took one look at this at the store and didn't bother to give it a second glance. It looked like something my grandma would use and I didn't see the point of it if I was going to be buying a carseat & stroller travel system. After we bought our travel system and discovered how much space the stroller would take up in the back of my Element (and the fact that the stroller was 26lbs), I immediately decided to give this a second chance. Don't judge a book by its cover! I use this stroller much more than my other stroller. This stays in the back of my car, is practically weightless and is so extremely useful. The size of it allows me to actually use my truck space for other things.

It opens/closes fairly easy. You just need to make sure that you align the wheels with the stroller as you close it. Otherwise, if you close it up with the wheels crooked, you will struggle to unlatch it open.

I also like the bar that the cup holders are attached to. This bar is strong and you can attach hanging toys on there for your baby to focus on.

I will honestly be so sad once my baby outgrows her carseat and I won't be able to use this anymore.

Oh wait... one gripe: those blasted cup holders. They are so freaking small that they are pretty much useless. And what is up with the square holder? What the heck are people supposed to use it for? I sometimes put my cell phone in there... but if I had an iPhone or something larger, it wouldn't fit.
