It took us almost an hour to figure out how to get the thing CORRECTLY installed in the car the first time. Although it was easy to get it in there, that didn't mean it was CORRECTLY installed.
Since both of us drive baby places in our cars, we really needed another base. Putting baby in teh car now takes about two seconds. We are considering buying one for the babysitter and even the friend who occasinally picks up baby from daycare.
Definately worth AT LEAST $40.00.

After reading some of the other reviews, I had to write my own. The base with accompanying carrier IS safe. I had mine installed by my local police department who said the back of the base is supposed to be able to come up off the seat (in reference to another reviewer's comments). We tried installing it on our own and did a horrible job! For those of you having difficulty with the base moving around, try having it inspected by your PD. Good luck!Customer Review: Graco SnugRide

I found the best price for these is here on Amazon. The base fit into my Dodge Ram back middle seat perfectly and the LATCH system keeps it very secure. However, my wife's car does not have LATCH and we were required to use the seat belt. Her car has leather seats and the front of the base slides side to side on the leather no matter how tight the seat belt is, the sliding does not happen in the Dodge Ram.Customer Review: GySgt USMC Retired

Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat in MarcusI bought an additional car seat base for our grandson's new baby and it really makes it convient having the base in two vehicles already strapped in so as all my granddaughter has to do is snap the seat into the base and off they go, safe and sound.Customer Review: Can't live without it!

For the others who have commented about the base moving, you might want to try the Mighty-Tite - Car Seat Belt Tightener. Trust me, once you get the seat positioned how you want it and then use the Mighty-Tite on it, it will NOT move AT ALL! The Mighty-Tite is a MUST HAVE with this or any other car seat for that matter!!With that said, this base is no worse than any other we tried.
