Customer Review: 10 weeks in with very mixed review...

So after much research and comparison, I bought this all thrilled that I could use it as a bassinet until son transitions to his crib. Works OK for that purpose. The concept of this is very cool, BUT:
1. The diaper deck really sucks. It is unsupported on one side and sags terribly - my son has been rolling to one side since I brought him home at 7lbs, 10oz. We now have a brick of diaper wipes propped under each end.
2. The canopy isn't really worth much - again, good idea, poor planning. It is flimsy (needs more "boning" to hold it up) and it's cream colored... which means if you are truly using it to darken the sleeping area (say for an afternoon nap) you will need to cover it. I clipped a thin, dark receiving blanket to mine.
3. The vibration & music are just OK. Vibration works great; the music is really lame and almost inaudible, even at highest volume. Esp if you are using the vibration & music at the same time, or baby is crying and you want the music to help soothe him. He'll never hear it! One feature of another brand of pack n play is the remote control of the unit, which this would greatly benefit from. Jumping up every 25 mins to re-start the vibration isn't ideal :( I don't even bother with the lights, they are so useless.
4. No storage anywhere. The diaper sack on the side is a total waste.
5. The napper is good up to 15#, but be advised your baby will probably outgrow it much sooner than that. My son is about 50th percentile for weight and length - right in the middle - and at 10 weeks and about 12# he is too long for it.
6. I just had to call and have Graco send me a new electronic unit b/c it suddenly started shorting and having a mind of its own. Incidental, I'm sure, but just adds to disappointment.
Why Graco doesn't combine features of theor other PnPs, I am not sure. This would be a much better unit if the diaper deck was the plastic retractable one with the storage (seen on the Crawford and others). Overall, this is a disappointment for the money. IMO, Graco needs to make improvements to the newborn napper PnPs.
