Baby Products Reviews of Graco Pack 'N Play Playard with Newborn Napper, BroadstreetCustomer Review: Best on the market! Summary: 5 Stars
I am pregnant with my fourth child and have used a few different play yards from a couple of different manufacturers. I needed a new one for my upcoming arrival to keep downstairs in the living room. I was initially attracted to this particular pack 'n play because of the newborn napper. I am quite impressed! Putting the entire thing together was very easy and it took about 10 minutes from start to finish (I'm sure having previous experience with pack 'n plays helped- I only had to figure out how to assemble the changing station and newborn napper). The construction is sturdy and durable. I think the newborn napper is an excellent idea. It will cradle the baby perfectly and looks very comfortable! I'm expecting to get about 3 months use out of the napper, as it is truly meant for a newborn who is not yet able to roll over. The Broadstreet print is, in my opinion, gender neutral as it is an aqua color with brown and off white. Some may prefer it for boys, but I think the colors work well for a girl(so long as you're not looking for a "girly" style). I am very happy with this pack 'n play and I'm looking forward to using it. It is definitely the best pack 'n play for the money.
Customer Review: Functional Summary: 3 Stars
Our baby is 8 weeks old today, so here's our experience with this so far.
The Pros:
- It's a pack and play
- Being able to raise the floor to use it as a place for a newborn to sleep
- Diaper changer works well
- Diaper organizer gets the job done
The Cons:
- The bassinet got so out of shape from the weight of the baby that after a week he was sleeping in a very uncomfortable position - and therefore not sleeping. We threw it away.
- This thing is heavy. Not something you'll throw on your shoulder and take with you.
- When the floor is raised to use as a place for the newborn to nap, it's sturdy enough to hold his weight, but not nearly as comfortable as a mattress (and I wouldn't expect it to be). He'll take a nap there if he has to, but he won't sleep as long as in his crib.
For the money, if I had to do it over again, I would have gone with the Chicco pack and play, or the bottom of the line Graco. If you need the bassinet and the diaper changing station, spend the extra $10 and get the nice one. If you don't, save a bunch of money and get something cheaper.
Customer Review: Love the napper Summary: 4 Stars
We bought both this particular Graco pack n play and an Arms Reach co-sleepers, and we're going to order a second pack n play for our bedroom and put away the co-sleeper for now. I had to deliver early and our baby was considering just borderline preemie, and honestly the napper is the best thing for him to sleep in. The napper is contoured and he can fall asleep in it without any problems and we don't have to worry about him rolling over.
Honestly, babies 'nap' in 2-3 hour spurts, so this unit is great for us. He's only around 6 lbs, so he fits perfectly into the changing station. The changing station is also easy to wipe down and clean for any blow outs and other diaper changing incidents. We installed the bassinet feature underneath and store all our extra clothes, cloths, shirts, blankets etc underneath the napper and changer for easy grabbing access.
There are some faults to this pack n play, but for us this one is perfect. We know we're moving in 6 months time, so this is the perfect 'crib' set until we can get something more permanent.
Customer Review: live saver! Summary: 5 Stars
This pack n play has been a life saver for us. After an unexpected c section I was not able to go up and down stairs for a few weeks. Our master bedroom is on the main floor and baby's room on the second floor. Obviously this was not going to work. We put this pack n play in our bedroom and our little guy sleeps and is changed in it. My baby was 8lb 8oz and the changing table feature has never been a problem. He's never rolled to the center and the changing table has never sagged with is weight. He's very cozy in the napper and sleeps well at night. Plus the sounds and vibrations are great as well and can be use with or without the timer feature. The only downside to this pack n play is that the newborn napper is really tough to install and get out. So if you need to move the pack n play it's kind of a pain if you have the napper installed. The canopy that comes with it is useless but we really like the wipes and diaper holder. Overall I would totally buy this pack n play again and would recommend it to friends.
Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this for my daughter, and she has been sleeping in it every night for the past 6 weeks. I don't plan on moving her from this until she gets too big for the "newborn napper" and I don't see that happening for at least another month (she's almost 9 lbs now). There are a few drawbacks, but should not discourage anyone from purchasing.
1) the changing station is not completely flat and baby will slightly roll to the side if not placed just so in it
2) the lights on it are not very bright, work great for finding pacifier and seeing baby but that's about it
3) would have loved to see this in a pink, or more gender neutral color
On the plus side:
1) batteries last forever. we use the light and vibration mode every night, multiple times a night and will just now have to replace batteries
2) very easy to assemble, and very light weight- not too heavy to move around
3) love that the diaper stacker is removable
