Baby Products Reviews of Graco Digital Deluxe iMonitor Baby Monitor

Customer Review: Doesn't work.
Summary: 1 Stars

If you are considering this product, carefully read the multiple reviews that say the signal is poor and the monitors beep constantly. I have owned this product for a year; it worked more often than not in the early months, but now the signal is constantly crackly or dropped. Of course, we can't hear the baby, and thus the product is useless. Sometimes if you move the monitors around the room, the signal will briefly pick up, only to die again (the baby's room is right next to ours, so distance is not the issue).

I am not one to complain about products much, but Graco is really selling a bill of goods on this one. The bottom line is, you might get lucky and it will work or work for awhile, but there is clearly a problem with battery life, range, and reception with this inferior product. If you spend $100 on a monitor, you deserve better quality and reliability. Don't make this purchase.

Customer Review: Good Monitor
Summary: 4 Stars

These monitors are really good monitors, but I thought the range would be a little bit longer since they are digital. We live in the suburbs of Phoenix, and I can go down 2 houses before it starts to beep out of range. A feature that I love is that the receivers as well as the monitor all have interchangable plugs. I just keep all three plugs plugged in different parts of the house, and I can move the monitor from the room she naps in to the room she sleeps in with no effort at all. The battery back up also works very well. The battery life on the receivers seems to be really long. If I charge it to full charge it will last around 4-5 hours. It also beeps when the battery is going to die, so you never just have blank air... you always have a connection to your baby. I have had less expensive monitors in the past, and you do get what you pay for. I do reccomend these monitors, worth every cent!

Customer Review: The best monitors you can buy
Summary: 5 Stars

There is no need for another long review. Don't waste your money on any of the cheapies. Pay a little more and enjoy the crystal clear sound and the ease of rechargeable batteries.

Notes: As mentioned, the batteries do NOT come connected and need to be attached even though they are inside the compartment. As for the low battery warnings, mine display a RED LED warning and beep every few seconds as the charge gets low. With two receivers each with the ability to be plugged in this is never a problem.

Sometimes the unit loses the signal and beeps, but usually the connection is quickly re-established. If not, turning the receiver off and on usually does the trick.

I have never tested the range, but since I live in the city most electronics like cordless phones have reduced range anyway so no matter what kind I bought the range was poor.

Customer Review: The best!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have literally tried a dozen monitors in our house...we have two small children and therefore need two monitors. I've tried multiple brands and styles and none of them would work well around the monitor that we already have...until I found this one! It is totally clear with NO static or interference at all. We have cordless phones, wireless network, another baby monitor, and live in a closely packed neighborhood...still NO static or interference.

The rechargeable batteries with the docking bases are a great feature as well as the battery back-up for the nursery unit. You have to remember to CONNECT the rechargeable battery packs in the battery compartment of the parent units before you charge them and do the initial set up. The directions don't mention that in the set-up section. (It is in a separate section)

This was well worth the money!

Customer Review: Batteries in BOTH parental units were DOA?!?
Summary: 1 Stars

I'm a big fan of Graco products, but this was my first purchase of an electronic Graco product, and I am thoroughly disappointed.

Following the instructions provided, I plugged the bases for both parental units into functional wall outlets. I was immediately concerned that neither unit's charging light came on, and tried several other outlets (all verified as working properly). However, the charging lights never came on. I left the bases plugged in for the 16 hours recommended for the initial charge but... long story short, neither rechageable battery pack was capable of carrying a charge. So, the monitor works if I am willing to operate off of AC power OR use dispoable batteries.

I find it hard to believe that a quality company like Graco would ship a product without better QA. Anyway, I plan to try to my luck with ANOTHER company's monitor.
