Baby Products Reviews of Graco Digital Deluxe iMonitor Baby MonitorCustomer Review: Waste of Money Summary: 1 Stars
As the title states - this unit was a waste of money.
I've read the other reviews - and I'm not sure how long those that gave good reviews have owned their units but we have had ours for 2 painful years. It worked great week 1... and ever since the performance has gone down hill. All night long we hear snap-crackle-pop from the unit while it's in the charging stand. Yes, I'm well aware that rechargeable batteries do not last forever but we were down to about 15 mins off the charger before it needed to be re-charged - on both units - which honestly is annoying and ridiculous. So if you plan on buying this for the long term - you will never get your money out of it as now you will have to pay for 2 new batteries. We've owned a FP 900mhz unit for our older daughter for over 3 years - it was less expensive - holds it's charge like it was new and we never hear the "rice krispies" at night.
Bottom line is for the price and name brand we expected MUCH more. Good luck on your search for the right monitor - but do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.
Customer Review: ONLY 3 drawbacks Summary: 4 Stars
I have had the imonitor for 19 months now and i have only three complaints. the battery life is awful. after having it for so long it only gets worse. in fact sometimes even after it has been turned off and in the cradle all day, i f i take it out it will last 20 minutes if i am lucky. The other complaint is that the range is not nearly as good as it claims to be. the further outside you get the more it beeps and gets static. The third issue i have is that when my phone rings, the monitor loses connection. it reconnects as soon as i hang up tho, but it beeps on and on until i do. but then our phones aren't very good, so that could be the problem. That being said, it is otherwise i great product. if you keep it in the cradle or directly plug the monitor in, you will have no problems. it will beep from time to time if it loses connection, but what monitor doesnt? And you can plug it in outside too and just keep checking on it. I mean you dont want to be TOO far from baby anyway!
SO all in all still better than most monitors after this amount of time and i feel still worth it.
Customer Review: Works well + we like the small size Summary: 5 Stars
We are very pleased with this monitor - and yes I believe a monitor is a must-have baby product - you will know right away when your baby cries if you put them down for a nap or down for the night and want to be another room. The sound quality is good with this device - and we have wireless internet and live in a densely populated neighborhood. Also, I was pleasantly suprised by the small size of both the sound monitor and the receivers. The receiver in my kitchen takes up very little counter space, and the monitor is small enough to keep on a window sill. I appreciate another's reviewer suggestion to get the monitor with 2 receivers (not one) if you live in a 2-story house. I was going to buy the single receiver model, but I am glad we didn't, as I can keep one receiver upstairs in our bedroom and the other downstairs in our kitchen. I have often taken one of the receivers outside to do some work in our backyard while our little one naps - and have been able to get work done all the while being able to respond to our baby quickly when he cries. Overall, great product.
Customer Review: awful product/awful "customer service" Summary: 1 Stars
Like so many others, we've had problem after problem. We received double parent units but the 2nd one just stopped working one day, not a battery problem, just stopped working. Called & was shipped a replacement which would never connect to nursery unit. Called again, another replacement shipped, it also would not connect to nursery unit. Obviously very frustrated I called again & was told I could ship it back to them for them to evaluate - and be without a monitor at all? At least I had one working parent unit. I asked instead that we receive a new one & then I would ship the old one back, this was not an option. I decided to make due with at least the one working parent unit & then what happens? That one stopped working several months later too! Our daughter is only 10 months old, I really would assume for the cost, if nothing else, that the product would last a bit longer than that! Riduculous & exasperating, we're going shopping now for another - it will not be a Graco brand needless to say.
Customer Review: Good at first, doesn't last Summary: 3 Stars
We bought this monitor about a year and a half ago. We had tried two other models previous to this one and I was always annoyed at night by the static they caused. At first this monitor was great. Very little static at night -- but, there was still some static. But, over the time we have had it, it has gradually started to deteriorate. It began about 8 months ago to lose the signal easily and beeping at all hours in the middle of the night waking us up. Then it began to lose its range easily. Finally, last night it stopped working completely. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it had stopped working b/c it no longer will beep when it loses the signal. It seems that this product should last longer for the price paid (which a year and a half ago was over $100). OH, and never drop the receivers. They are very sensitive and one drop could be the end of your monitor. The belt clip is not designed very well, so it is difficult to hook onto your pants and keep in one place.
