Baby Products Reviews of Gerber 12-Pack Prefold Birdseye 3-Ply Cloth Diapers with Padding - White

Customer Review: Everyone Needs These
Summary: 5 Stars

For those using all disposeable diapers, you still need one dozen cloth diapers and two diaper pins. Your baby will eventually get diaper rash. If you follow the standard advice and leave the baby's diaper off, it can result in some major messes. It works much better to use a cloth diaper with no plastic pants and change him as as soon as he wets. They can also be used as burp cloths and lap pads.
For those using all or part cloth diapers, these are the best among modestly priced diapers. They are very absorbant with the sponge layer, yet are not overly bulky once your baby is three months and up. They dry quickly in the drier, saving on your laundering costs. One bleaching has gotten all stains out. The only down side is a few pills on the first few washings, but this has not gotten any worse since then.

Customer Review: So Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought these for burp cloths, and I bought them because they were bigger. I am a big guy, I have a big torso and I wanted them to cover more of me without having to move them around all the time and balancing baby while I do it. I used the first one right out of the package (without washing it) and got yelled at by my wife (cause everything has to be washed first - understandable). The product was awesome though because the size was perfect. Problem is that after the first wash they all shrunk by 3 inches on the one side and 4 inches on the other side (I measured). Now these are totally useless to me. Seriously Gerber, why do you sell such trash, you could not preshrink your fabric? Wanted to leave a surprise for your customers? Save yourself the trouble of this junk product.

Customer Review: Not a good diaper!
Summary: 1 Stars

As an environmentalist, I wanted to use cloth diapers. I bought 3 packs of these diapers which started unraveling, getting holes in the middle, or both when my baby was 6 weeks old. One third of these diapers are too damaged to use, and I keep finding more damaged diapers. Your discription said something about a sponge insert for more absorbancy, but none of the packs that I bought at the Newpark Mall Target in Newark, CA had sponge inserts. Nor did that Target sell the inserts separately. This product isn't durable enough or absobant enough to be used as a diaper.

Customer Review: absorbency
Summary: 3 Stars

Don't buy these if your looking for a pre-fold that will hold all of your childs waste in,and if you have a heavy wetter don't weven think about it without a doubler Diaper Doubler - Absorbency Booster - 2 Piece Set (these are nice) they are no wear near as absorbent as chinese prefolds, these make great claning clothgs and burp rags though. that's about all they are good for please spend the extra money on diaper service quality prefolds it will be worth it in the end.

Customer Review: These are great multi-use cloths.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have no idea how these do as diapers, but as burp cloths and general baby-blat mess cloths, they are great. I used them with my first two children, and if you get a lot, you always have some clean ones available for whatever diaster strikes. If you don't bleach them, they stay soft and absorbant. After the kids got older, I found other uses for them. They make great boot/shoe shining rags for those of you who need that kind of thing like we do. Now that I am expecting child #3, these are very high on my list of must-haves.
