Customer Review: The material is the same as cheesecloth!

These are nothing more than pieces of cheesecloth, with sewn edges to prevent fraying. I have posted the picture to clearly show how unbelievably thin they really are. I can't think of anything other than squeezing the water out of cheese that I would be able to use these for. You can see right through the mesh material, so I wouldn't even think of blowing my nose, let alone diapering a baby, or chancing a good shirt on spit-ups with these useless see-through, cheesecloth squares. I'm completely baffled by the number of good reviews these, and similar Gerber cloth diapers get. It is as if the good reviewers have a different product for which they are writing a review for. I suggest shopping in person for cloth diapers, so you can actually see, and feel the material with your own eyes, before buying them.Customer Review: Not for diapers... but for everything else

I got these as a shower present, and I was all "what the heck am I going to do with these? I'm using disposables!" Various moms at the shower told me these were invaluable for lots of non-diaper uses, and sure enough, within a week of my daughter being born I had ordered two more packs of these (almost the only thing I actually bought MORE of). They've been variously useful for burping pads (folded up), nursing pads (I had a lot of overproduction), wiping up baby spit, impromptu bib, and security blanket (how awesome is it that my baby has a supply of thirty security blankets... if one gets dirty or lost, there's always another one!). When she grows out of them I'm planning on using them as rags, if there's anything left of them. Just so pleased.Customer Review: Too thin for a burp cloth... how could they ever be used as diapers?

I bought these with the sole intent of using them as burp cloths, since many other reviews have suggested this use. When I opened the package I was shocked at how thin the material is. I can actually see clearly through them! They also don't retain their shape at all after one washing.
I wasn't upset at first because I knew I was not planning on using them as diapers. However, I folded the "diaper" in half to use as a burp cloth and the spit up leaked right through! Are you kidding me?
I am irritated enough to have wasted money on not-so-great burp cloths... but I think it is terrible that Gerber uses the word diaper on the label. There is NO WAY these could be used as a diaper! The material is like cheesecloth!

A friend recommended I register for these although she knew I was planning to use disposable diapers. I accidentally registered for the diapers with the absorbent centerfold, and fortunately, received these. They are large - 27"x 27" square and are essential for baby care. I still use them every day and my son is almost a year old. I used them to line his cradle and changing-table when he was first born and going through many diapers a day. They work great as burp cloths, and are superb for wiping up other food messes. Additionally, I found they work as a light blanket during the summer months. Extremely durable, fold-up rather small for travel, and launder well. 101 uses, I love them!Customer Review: Disappointed

I bought these for use as burp cloths with my first three children, the last in 2007. They were fantastic. After the boys outgrew the need for burp cloths, they still liked to sleep with them, they were so soft.
I recently bought another package in anticipation of our 4th baby, and I could not be more disappointed. They are 2/3 the size of the originals. The edges are serged - and not very carefully - instead of finished. The fabric is rough, even after washing. I have searched for a better alternative with no luck.
I don't know what caused Gerber to alter the quality of their product, but I am one very disappointed customer. I will not be recommending them to anyone.
