Baby Products Reviews of Foogo by Thermos Leak-Proof SS 7 oz Sippy Cup with Handle in BlueCustomer Review: Milk gets trapped and it smells! Summary: 1 Stars
Does this sippy cup keep milk cold? Yes. Does this sippy cup not leak? Yes. Does this sippy cup smell like spoiled milk after one month of use? Yes. There is a rubber gasket that hold the handles on the tumbler part of the cup. The gasket is not removable and milk gets trapped under it. I have tried several methods of cleaning including the bottle brush, the dishwasher, and shaking soapy water in it. Yesterday I took a paper towel and my fingernail and removed a lot of dried up milk. Disgusting! They now smell so bad that my son will not use them. What a disappointment! I did write to thermos to alert them of this problem. They sent me a canned response about not storing milk products too long in the cup. That's not the problem! This problem starts happening the first time a kid tips the cup up and milk gets under the seal. What a disappointment!
Customer Review: Best Sippy cup of the 4 different ones we've tried! Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 9 months old and has 4 different Sippy Cups and this is by far the best one! He has Gerber, Tommie Tippy, The safe sippy and this one. It has a soft spout which is nice for a baby without teeth, it is the best one as far as leakage. Although it will leak if inside valve isn't snapped in properly. It's nice and thick plastic, versus some of the cheaper ones with cheap plastic. The best part about this cup is that the lid ALWAYS screws on perfectly, so the spout is always un the right place. That may seem trivial, but it's really annoying when you have to keep screwing and un screwing the lid to get the spout in a place where your baby can drink from it. My only complaint about this cup - I wish it came in more colors. Over all, this is the #1 cup that I would recommend to parents!
Customer Review: great cup! Summary: 5 Stars
After reading various reviews about this product I felt like I needed to put my thoughts forth... this cup is great! Our 2 year old loves it. I was reluctant to purchase this cup because of all the reviews about leaking problems... I must say we haven't had this problem at all. If you put the cup together as directed (and it's actually not that hard to do) then it doesn't leak. I think this is pretty much the case for most sippy cups (except those that don't have any extra parts). It's solid, rugged and keeps liquids cold for long periods, great for those long drives in the car in the summer. The 7 oz capacity definitely has it's advantages too, it seems that most sippy cups designed for older toddlers are enormous which is not always necessary. Enjoy!
Customer Review: Leaky all the time, no matter what... TRASHED IT. Summary: 1 Stars
When I found this sippy cup on the shelf the other day I threw it out. It made me annoyed to even see it. It has been responsible for countless heavy leaking problems in the baby bag, lunch bag, plastic bag.... any place it ever was that wasn't completely upright. Sure, it kept milk cold for a long time, and this was helpful for long car trips & such... but those don't happen often enough for me to be annoyed the rest of the time. I know I was putting it together properly, I'm no sippy cup novice. I have gone through at least 4 varities before settling on the Playtex variety I use now. I also am really a big fan of the camelbak adult/kid sippy cup (for just water), they never leak and the kid understands how to use it. I wouldn't waste my money again.
Customer Review: Replacement parts are available! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great little sippy cup. It is made of inert materials so that my toddler isn't putting unnecessary chemicals into her body, it keeps her drinks cold for hours, and she can throw it from a height of 10 feet and not destroy it. We've had the cup for about 7 months now and it has started to leak. However, I called Thermos and got two replacement valve assemblies and 1 spout for $7 including shipping. I would recommend to anyone who buys this cup to call Thermos and order valves to have on hand for when the cup does begin to leak. The spout of my daughter's cup has held up very well despite her chewing on it incessantly, I an extra just in case, but the valve has worn down over 7 months of being sucked at. Understandable, I think.
