Baby Products Reviews of Foogo by Thermos Leak-Proof SS 10 oz Straw Bottle in PinkCustomer Review: Great product Summary: 4 Stars
I have the Leak-proof bottles and food storage container. They have held up beautifully for my three youngest children, one of whom is autistic and can be really hard on sippy cups! My five-year-old daughter loves them because she doesn't feel like she's using a "baby" sippy cup like the plastic ones with spouts, and the baby drops hers frequently on the hard ceramic in the kitchen and we haven't had one crack or break yet. Today I'm buying two more in pink for the girls.
The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is for the lack of replacement parts available for purchase (straw and straw attachment). If my dishwasher chews up a straw, I have to buy a whole new $15 cup.
Customer Review: don't buy this cup Summary: 1 Stars
(I don't usually take the time to review items--but I thought it was worth the warning on this one)
I had high hopes for this cup. And it let me down in a number of ways.
Although it does suggest handwashing, it is described as dishwasher safe.
After a few washes, the bottom cover fell off, exposing the glue underneath, and would never stick back onto the cup.
Also, the rubber portion of the straw separated from the base of the cup--total choking hazard.
It was expensive, and I am extremely annoyed. (grateful that my daughter did not swallow the broken straw--but extremely annoyed)
Customer Review: Some issues, but still a good product Summary: 3 Stars
Things I like about this thermos:
-Keeps liquid cold for at least 3 hours, more if you use ice cubes
-Very easy for babies learning to drink from straws to figure out
-Comes apart easily for cleaning
Things I dislike about this thermos:
-Cannot put warm liquids in it
-Rather small. I have to fill it up four times while at work
-Don't put any carbonated beverage into it. When you flip open the lid, the drink will explode all over you!
-Cannot go in the dishwasher unless you want to risk ruining it.
-Mine does leak occasionally after only 2 months of use.
Customer Review: Straw broke first month of use Summary: 3 Stars
I really liked this cup, and bought it based on the reviews. It kept her milk cold, and did not leak. However, my daughter came home from school less than a month after purchase, and the straw was torn. I always noticed that it was a bit too long to easily shut the top, and in her attempt to close the lid, it snapped the top of the straw off. I am hoping that it was just defective to begin with, as this didn't seem to be a problem in other reviews. I returned it to Amazon, and will be trying again with the same kind, since it is still so highly reviewed. Hoping for better luck the second time around.
Customer Review: Great alternative to plastic cups, but.... Summary: 4 Stars
I bought two of these for my kids and really like them. Beverages stay cold for hours and they do not sweat or leak. However if your child is a chewer, that straw will not last long at all! My oldest chewed the straw immediately and of course now it has a nice slice of a hole in it. I'm going to see about ordeing a replacement part, but it will probably not be cheap.
I'd go w/ the Sigg cups if you are shopping around. They work just as well and you don't have to worry about soft plastic parts! We have serveral of these, as every member of our family uses one.
