Customer Review: Okay, but not really effective at "germ" control...

Let's be honest here...this product is not going to provide any sort of "germ barrier" between your child and a shopping cart. Sure, it might prevent dirt and stains from reaching your child, but it's a little too simplistic to believe that it will protect your toddler from bacteria. Why? The most contaminated part of a cart is the handle you push it with. Well, unless you wear gloves while shopping, you are going to be pushing the shopping cart with your bare hands...which will then be touching your child's face, hands, etc. Therefore, bacterial transfer from the cart to your child circumvents this product. If you are a true "germaphobe" and don't really understand the nature of viruses and bacteria, it would be far more effective for you to hose down the seat and handle of a shopping cart with Lysol or another anti-baterial spray. (Note: You can't kill cold viruses...duh, simple science here...so don't worry about those).The only reason to buy this product is if you want to keep your child from getting dirty due to a less-than-clean shopping cart. If it provides you with piece of mind, then go for it...but don't believe it's doing anything protective for your child.

My husband and I searched everywhere for a seat cover, but we couldn't find anything that offered as much coverage, and comfort, as the Floppy Seat. We are SO pleased with it, we use it every time we go shopping and anytime our daughter needs to sit in a high chair when we're out. It even fits on the larger carts at the huge discount stores. Our daughter is comfortable, happy, and she's not touching anything that anyone else has put their hands on! When it is used in a grocery cart, the Floppy Seat covers every part of the seat -- including where we parents are pushing the cart! It is easy to put on and take off, and the fact that it converts to its own storage bag is great too!No matter where we go, we are always asked where we purchased this, and we are happy to tell each and every parent, grandparent, whoever it is that's asking! I've even waited patiently while another shopper or diner has gotten out pen and paper to write down what it's called and where we got it from!
I debated giving the Floppy Seat 4 stars because I do think it's kind of pricey, however I have to say that I think it's worth every penny! I am so thankful for this product and am so happy that we purchased it!

This is the best product out there for shooping cart use. I previously tried the "Secure Me Travel Seat" and was very disappointed. It barely covered the seat and still left most of the shopping cart exposed. The floppy seat covers absolutely every part that the baby can reach and is very well padded. The strap works great at keeping my son in place. The inside pocket is handy, since it's deep enough to hold more than one item or a bottle. This seat makes shopping so much easier and enjoyable. I will never shop without it again. (It also works good on those restaurant highchairs that don't have a tray.) I noticed some people found it a bit difficult to attach it with one hand, and I agree. I just try to park near a shopping cart and attach it while my son is still sitting in his car seat. Even though it's hard to do it with only one hand, it's extremely easy to attach with two! You can find it online for a little less money on other web sites, which is what i did, but so far I've only seen the improved version with carrying straps at babies r us. (the straps are only a matter of storage convenience). Trust the reviews, you'll be doing yourself a favor by getting one pronto!Customer Review: happymom

We bought this when our daughter was about 7 months old and have been so happy with it. She was squirming around and getting turned around in her grocery cart seat, even standing up in the seat and had even gotten a leg or a finger in a pinched situation in those little slats a couple of times. Since we bought this, she stays seated and secure, remains comfortable and happy and is secure from germs, grime, and pinching. It covers everything and straps securely! It is also great when you live in a hot area like we do, because the carts take a while to cool down after they come in from outside and this makes the seat comfortable to ride in. The pouch to put her sippy cup in is wonderful and we are able to use it even on those double seat carts, like Costco has, by placing the leg holes in the middle so that they go over the middle-most openings (the left leg hole of the right seat and the right leg hole of the left seat). We tried a cheaper one with our older daughters and were unhappy with it. This is a wonderful product and we are still using it regularly now that our little one is almost 15 months old. I would buy this for anyone who did not have one-- wonderful baby gift!!Customer Review: I can go grocery shopping now!

Id give this a 5 star rating but its not as easy to take out of its bag as it says it is. Maybe Im still a green new mom, but one handed was difficult!
I usually hate shopping with my baby because I feel so rushed. I usually have to have my husband come with me to hold her (so Im definately rushed, as he hates shopping) or wear her in my Bjorn (which rushes me because she's so heavy it hurts my back). Usually she'll get fussy either way, but the day I got the Floppy, was my best shopping day yet! I got brave and decided to run some errands at Walmart. I tossed the Floppy onto the cart and put my baby girl inside it and she immediately started smiling. She's only 6 months and still a bit wobbly sitting up on her own, but the Floppy is so cushy, that it helps support her really well. I hooked on some links onto a loop that I noticed on the Floppy and she was totally content from that moment on. She stared at the designs and played the whole time.
Whew! Thank goodness! I was able to get a whole hour of shopping done and she didnt fuss one bit. Plus my hubby didnt have to tag along and I didnt have to strain my back. Love it!
