Customer Review: Great for car trips too!
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this chair when our son began eating solids at 4 months and were very pleased at how compact it is. It's plastic all over (the pictures make it look like it might have cloth on the seat), and an ugly beige color, so it's not the prettiest thing but it's easy to clean and easy to use.

We just returned from a 4 week, 5000 mile car trip with our son who is now 7 months old and we were so glad to have the chair with us. We just strapped it into the car next to him while driving and carried it into restaurants along the way. Restaurant high chairs don't work for babies who can't sit up well on their own, and this chair attaches to an amazing variety of regular chairs. We used it in hotel rooms and at the homes of family and friends, and it made meal times much easier. We forgot the tray on the car roof once; we recovered it, but it was too banged up to use, so we just ordered a replacement tray from Fisher-Price that arrived quickly (inexpensive too). The reclining feature is great for when the baby has eaten and is tired but you are not done with your meal yet. Our little one conked out in his chair in several restaurants along the way.

We are ordering another chair to keep at my mother's house for when we visit. We'll be able to us it as a booster too, so it will be useful for years to come.

Customer Review: excellent - even for a spitter!
Summary: 5 Stars

This high chair is great. My son is a little over 6 months old and we've been using it for about a month now. It attaches easily to your standard kitchen chair - but the straps are long enough to even attach to a bulkier dinning room chair if needed. It is very stable. My son is quite tall/big for his age and we've had no problems with stability at all. It comes with a 5 point harness - but we only use the three. I love how it can be adjusted to tilt to multiple levels. It's also very easy to clean. My son is a "spitter" as they call them and has a very slight gag reflex. So if a little bit of cereal goes down the wrong pipe or he catches some extra air with a bite of squash then all it takes is a couple good coughs and all of dinner is up and all over the place! Granted I can't wait until he's over this stage, but until then I need a chair that is easy to clean and this one is! The cover and the straps come off very easily. I just take it all over to the sink, hose it off and hang dry it on a drying rack. I've never tried washing it in the machine. This routine occurs a couple times a week and I can have it all apart and back on in under a minute. I would definitely buy this again, especially since your child can use it through the toddler years.

Customer Review: Plastic type is a company secret....
Summary: 2 Stars

Functionally, this is a 5 star product. I give it 2 stars for the following reason:

Recently, the safety of certain types of plastic, mainly baby bottles, have been called into question. So, I looked on our daughter's tray for this identification/recycling number. There was none. There was no identification/recycling number on the product instructions. So, I went to the fisher-price webpage, found the customer support number, and called it.

The "customer relations" representative told me that it was not available for public knowledge, that it was company proprietary information (in other words, it is a secret what plastic your child is exposed to, as far as this product is concerned). She also told me that she could not get the information for me, and she told me that the product was safe, nontoxic, and tested, yet she couldn't tell me her references or provide information to me on this product. Hmmmm.... I'm really disappointed, seeing that my child eats virtually every meal from foods contacting this tray.

Don't believe me? Give them a call at [...]. Obviously, an anonymous caller does not get such information, but if there are others who call, then perhaps they will come forward with this information.

Customer Review: Love this - VERY practical!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

For the first couple of months, Thomas sat in the Bumbo on our dining room table. I knew this wasn't going to last forever, so I did my research on highchairs.
Not surprisingly, it was going to be ANOTHER $100+ for this next baby gadget. And I don't like to spend money on things I can't get excited about - and there are no pretty, functional high chairs. In my opinion. The pretty antique ones don't have dishwasher safe or removable trays... which is like dining on fine china that you have to handwash every night. Looks good in the dining/playroom, but not something I want to use everyday. Then you get to the functional high chairs - and some of them are OK, but none are what I'd put in the "good looking" category.

So I decided to get this one - the Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair. It was a lot cheaper than the other ones ($50), and it sits on top of a chair so I can stash it away. It's really easy to use - and it has different reclining positions for different stages. Eventually, it will turn into a booster seat. Also, we could easily take it with us for a trip - either to a friend's house for dinner or on a road trip. I LOVE a practical purchase!!

Customer Review: The only high chair you'll ever need!! Buy 3 -- The grandparents need it too!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Every mom is passionate about her one favorite baby product. This is mine! Most important, this high chair straps onto ANY armless chair -- that means that it works great at home, comes with us to Nana's house, goes out to the lake house, over to Auntie's house, to ALL restaurants and even in the camper. You can't do that with a regular high chair!

Also, it tilts! When babies start on their first solids, they need to be in a chair, but can't sit up on their own. The angle that this one reclines to is perfect. It gradually tilts up as the child gets older, and the tray tilts with the seat, so it's always level. Now that our son is almost ready to sit at the table with the rest of the family, we'll be able to simply remove the tray and pull him over like everyone else -- no need to buy a booster seat.

Cleanup is a breeze, and the tray is even dishwasher safe. The padded chair cover is easy to wipe clean, but also soft and comfy enough for even tiny babies.

I tell all of my new-mom-friends to get this high chair. It's THE BEST high chair on the market, HANDS DOWN. You won't regret this purchase.
