Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 3 Stars

The price is good but the product is much to be desired

Good Points:
1)The receiver is very clear when using batteries only
2)You can hear ANYTHING through this monitor. If you have it turned up you can hears things better through the receiver than you can when actually being in the room!

Needs Improvement:
1)The receiver has the shortest battery life ever. We had to use the plug because even after a brand new battery was put in it would die out during the night!
2) The receiver has a lot of static when using it plugged in. Which can be very annoying when you're trying to sleep at night.

Customer Review: A great monitor for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

Well I purchased this monitor over a year ago when my son was born last November 2002, and I have had no complaints. The monitor does have background noise when you turn it on, and I only use the AC Adaptor, but it works well for my needs. I can hear my son if the volume is down low, and the lights work great. I haven't had a problem with the static, and it's one of the most economical buys out there. So far, Fisher-Price has been a company I have bought many baby items from. So, although others have only had short term luck with their monitor, I highly recommend this product , and I've had it for over a year.

Customer Review: momtocolin
Summary: 3 Stars

The reception on the monitor is very good, I could hear the baby very well and there was very little static. However, I had two problems with the monitor: 1. It caused picture interference with our cable tv and 2. When you plug monitor into the A/C outlet it makes a loud buzzing sound. I am a very light sleeper and could not sleep with such a loud buzzing noise.

I ended up getting another Fisher-Price Monitor that is rechargeable. It is not quite a sensative as the other monitor, but it does not buzz when plugged into the base unit for recharging and I can sleep at night with this new monitor when it is on.

Customer Review: lotsa noise and eats batteries
Summary: 3 Stars

The noise, the same sound like made by an AM radio when the dial is between stations, is loud and consistent, even when plugged into my Tripp-Lite noise filter and my electrical stuff is off. Seems the noise level isn't any different switching between AC adaptor and the battery. In reply to the complaint about eating batteries. The new rechargeables called NiMH for (Nickel Metal Hydride) are much better than the type they replaced in the market called NiCad. If you need long lasting rechargeables, go get some. NiMH rechargeables are great if you use batteries (I think they last long as alkalines).

Customer Review: so far so good...
Summary: 5 Stars

I just purchased this monitor after returning 3 others. So far the sound quality is amazing. I can hear everything going on in the nursery with no problem and with a minimal amount of static, depending on which room I'm in. Previously I tried the Fisher Price Soothing Dreams monitor which had so much static I could barely hear my son's loudest cries. I also tried the Graco Listen & Talk 900 megahertz which emitted these loud buzzing sounds out of both the nursery and parent units. Both of those monitors were double the price of the Sound n Lights. Save your money and get this one instead!
