Customer Review: I am not at all pleased w/this product....
Summary: 1 Stars

We bought this monitor based on all the wonderful reviews. What a waste! We have two major problems w/this monitor.

1)The static. Whether it's plugged in, on battery power, channel A, channel B...didn't matter. There was awful static and more often than not a horrible buzzing sound from the reciever. Often the sound would cut in and out making it difficult to determine if I was hearing static and buzzing or the baby crying.

2)When used on battery power, the monitor would go dead after an hour or so. I at first thought it was the battery (even though it was brand new) and replaced it. It continued to happen. Plug it back in for a few minutes, it would work again, but only for a short time before going dead again. With our daughters bedroom being downstairs and ours upstairs, this of course is a MAJOR problem!

I will be returning this monitor and have yet to decide which monitor I will replace it with, but I seriously doubt it will be another Fisher Price product.

Customer Review: Impressive
Summary: 5 Stars

I received the GRACO dual receivers as a baby shower gift. This monitor was not very good. It had so much static. It did its job, so I kept it. However, I refused to take it with me traveling. I travel to Indiana because my younger sister lives there. She has a two story house and when I would put the baby down I couldn't hear her cry from downstairs. I went to the store and found this monitor. It was only $20 so I figured if it worked even half as well as the GRACO it would be okay. Let me tell you, it is great. I could hear the TV in the next room. I could hear the fan rotating. I could even hear her roll over. On top of that, I could see her larger movements with the lights. When she cried all the lights glowed. I was tempted to take this monitor back home with me and bring the one I have in my house to Indiana my next visit. This is a great monitor, don't be fooled because it is cheap that it isn't good. It is great.

Customer Review: Great Bang for the Buck

Being that I was having my first baby, I didn't know much about what to get ahead of time. As far as monitors go, I did A LOT of research and read all the reviews. I ended up registering for the Bebe monitor ... . Well, no one bought it for us, and so since we were trying to watch our money, my husband (who also did his own research on baby monitors) ended up coming home with this Fisher Price Sights and Sounds monitor. I was pretty skeptical, but figured it was worth trying. I am SO GLAD that we didn't get that expensive monitor. The Fisher Price monitor works fantastic! No static or buzzing. (Regarding the buzzing, I have heard that if the monitor buzzes, there may be interference from another large appliance close by such as a television, large fish tank, or whatever...)

We sleep very sound knowing that we can keep an ear on our precious baby without having to worry if we are missing anything. I highly recommend this product!

Customer Review: Not new and improved!
Summary: 3 Stars

We bought the Sounds & Lights monitor 2 yrs. ago and have been so pleased with it. We bought another set recently for our upcoming 2nd baby, and did not find that the quality has been new and improved as they claim. The units felt so lightweight and not sturdy compared to our old set. While it seemed to work fine during the day, it had a loud buzz at night when I plugged it in beside my bed, even at the very lowest volume setting. Also, the old set could take batteries in the transmitter as well as the receiver - we found this handy as we clipped the transmitter to the bassinet so it was right with the baby when we wheeled him from room to room around the house. I returned this one and found one that we liked better by Evenflo Constant Care 1500. It also takes batteries in both the transmitter & receiver and is very quiet, even with the volume turned up all the way.

Customer Review: No better than the others

I just bought this monitor after fussing with another brand for a few months. I thought the Fisher-Price brand would offer better quality. When it works, it is very sensitive and I can hear my baby breathing, but it doesn't usually work. When it's plugged in, there is this low buzzing that bothers me while I sleep and I am a heavy sleeper. When it's on battery power, it gets nothing but static if I put it down. I have to hold the antenna to keep the static away. NOT very convenient. I have tried all the recommendations in the directions to no avail. Plus sometimes, the sound just cuts in and out like my baby's on a cell phone and I can't hear him at all for several seconds. So, it looks like another trip to the store to try something else.
